You've piqued my interest...why would the brand matter?  Almost *all* TVs these days have the same features/inputs.

It's nice to know that there the same as on the other ships so I can connect my movies via computer, phone or hard drive.

On some, if not all ships, they have their own remote controllers that do not allow you to change the input to the TV so you cannot connect a computer or dvd drive unless you bring your own compatible remote. I had to do this on my last cruise with NCL. You can get cheap remotes on Amazon but they are brand specific. NCL has Samsung TV's so I have to buy a different remote for the SUN.

At $6 - $9 each I would rather take a remote that will work with the brand. "Universal" remotes don't always work or have the correct functions.

I have yet to run across a Princess TV which requires a remote to change the input to their TV's.

I've always had good luck with the RCA universal remote....

Hey so what do I need to play my own stuff on the TV? Staying in a mini-suite, don't know what TVs those are. I would love to be able to play music from my phone on the TV as well as play movies and shows. Can someone tell me what I need to bring and any details other than hook your pc up to the TV using hdmi and sounds like I need to pack a universal remote? Cruise is in 2 weeks so I really appreciate your help getting me tv-ready y'all!!

Thanks for your help - Shankon from Nashville

So that's about it, HDMI cable and pc or other media device. I did this on Norwegian, my last cruise. You also need the universal remote b/c the remote in the room doesn't give you the capability of changing sources. I haven't been on the Sun yet so I don't know how accessible the HDMI port is.

Thanks. I know on rhe previous Sun Princess the hdmi port wasn't really accessible. As a matter of fact I pretty much accidentally knocked the TV off the wall trying. They seemed like pretty old model tvs. I'm hoping this new Sun Princess makes it easier. It would be nice if they had the big stations preset and you enter your password like so many other hotels nowadays. But we can dream right?

I can't say for sure about the Sun Princess but all the TV's on all Princess ships the inputs can be changed without a remote. Just use the toggle switch at the bottom center to do it.

I expect the TV to be mounted similar & close to the wall so people can pass by without bumping into it. I bring a long nose plyers to reach behind the set and plug in the HDMI cable.

Good idea with long nose pliers. I'll see if we have room in the luggage. With it being such a long trip and five extra days in Barcelona, my wife will certainly have tons of stuff!!!
