Pool Lifts on Grand Princess and Caribbean Princess?

Recommended Posts

Has anyone recently been on either the Grand Princess or Caribbean Princess?

I am a full time wheelchair user, and I can't tell from the You Tube videos if they have a pool lift on any of their pools or hot tubs.

Have not seen any pool lifts on Princess ships.

There's definitely a pool lift on the Discovery Princess.  I've witnessed the crew using it to assist somebody into and out of the adult area pool.

According to this website  https://www.specialneedsatsea.com/cruise-accessibility/princess-cruises/caribbean-princess/  there is a lift at the Neptune pool.

Have been on just about every Princess ship except Discovery and Sky. Have not seen one on any of the ships. Always possible that they might have something in storage that they can bring out.

Did find an article that showed one on the Ruby, but my picture of the same pool from last year did not show one but did show a plate where one could be inserted, so maybe they do have them in atorage.

There is.  On the Discovery, there were a couple of mounting holes by the edge of the pool.  I noticed them the day before I saw the lift in use, but didn't put two and two together until the next day when there was a lift installed.

Anyway, to get back to the question, Princess has a mobility questionnaire which may or not be relevant itself, but at the bottom of it is an email address and phone number for Princess' access office, and that might be the best way to contact Princess directly to get an accurate answer.

Yes, there is a pool lift available on Princess ship.

On older ships, it's a portable lift, which they'll bring out and set-up for those who want/need it

On newer ships, it's permanently mounted..

Every single cruise ship that sails from the US has to be accessible for pool, etc. That means lifts, on any/every ship that sails the US at any point.

Just cuz someone didn't see it doesn't mean it's not available..
