Navigator with solo college age kid

Recommended Posts

Hi, we are traveling with a college sophomore, B2B on Navigator July 1 and July 5.  Is there any solo programming for young people? Are they allowed into adult spaces (gym, spa, adult pool, bars and disco)?  I understand they can’t drink on board but perhaps can in Ensanada? What’s the best way to meet other college aged kids?

There is a program called "Hyperlink" that has specific events for 18-25 year olds. The app will show those events.

With the fairly safe assumption he is 18+ and not Young Sheldon, he is welcome anywhere on the ship. FYI, bars are used for family-friendly events like trivia and even young children are welcome there... they're not like bars on land.

Yes she’s almost 19. Thank you!

You're welcome, apologies for using the wrong pronoun, no idea why I did that. Lack of sleep and too much forum reading maybe.

If in port, and the local country's drinking age is 18+ then yes she can drink onshore.  At no time will they be allowed to drink alcohol on the ship regardless of where they are ported.

Any idea whether that applies to the RCCL excursion?  We’re signed up for Margarita madness lol

If booked through the cruise line they will enforce their age rules. You probably can book that through the vendor directly which will enforce the local rules.

She can also gamble 🙂. Casinos on the ship are 18+.  I will say I cruised with my 18 year old last summer and he didn’t know about hyperlink (or chose not to go) …he did struggle meeting same-age friends because he was too old for the teen club.  Prior cruises he always made groups of friends in the teen club.  I would definitely suggest the hyperlink activities!

Sounds like we can check with Royal and cancel by day 2 since the trip is day 4.  Will look for direct vendors!

Traveling with a college sophomore on the Navigator sounds like a fun trip! For solo programming for young adults, check the daily cruise planner. They often have activities and events aimed at the 18-25 age group, which can be a great way to meet others.

Speaking of college students, I think a vacation will not work out if you don't turn in all your assignments in time, because it's not a good idea to think about studying while on a cruise. Therefore, I recommend the service https://essays.edubirdie.com/do-my-assignment to quickly and efficiently finish all your assignments before your trip. The experts know their job!

By the way,  this one a very interesting program! I seem to have heard a lot of good reviews about it. So I would like to go myself.

We went to a karaoke game one night last week on Wonder and we were surrounded by Hyperlink-aged kids (made me feel old, lol). In any case, they certainly seemed to be having fun. Many of them got on stage and were from all over the US so it was clear they met on the ship and were hanging out together.
