Pre Cruise Rome visit

Hi and Happy Cruising!!  I am looking for a pre cruise hotel in Rome mid September that will be under $300 (US) per night as well as the name of a tour company to give me a guided tour on our first day in Rome.  Any help will be so appreciated!!  Thanks in advance!!

There are several tour companies mentioned here, including a huge thread on the wonderful Rome in Limo.

 

You should know the position of guide is distinctly different from driver. A driver will give you a lot of info, but not accompany you inside.

I really like Hotel Lancelot.  Not crazy expensive, nice rooms, nice people, walkable to Colosseum and probably more if you're motivated and have good knees.  I stayed a couple years ago and am staying again pre and post cruise this fall.

Just stayed at Hotel Smerlado - great location and wonderful staff.  Highly recommend.

 

We did the Rome E-Bike Night Tour with wine/food tasting and absolutely loved it a great way to see the highlights and especially seeing things lit up at night.
