Oceania Suite 12007 - IGNORE

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

This suite is on Deck 12 under Horizons restaurant. Has anyone had a suite in this area? I wonder if it can be very noisy. Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

Marcy

Horizons is not a restaurant but the lounge. They have various activities during the day - needlepoint, afternoon tea , various evening activities with a live band/dj for dancing, etc.

oops silly me, just read some reviews and sounds like the suite will be very noisy. Changed my mind it's put me right off. Thanks Basor

Is this your 6/25 cruise, Marcia, or another you were thinking of?

On Marina 12015. Is it under the workout facility? Has anyone been on that side? Is it noisy?

I have looked at the deck plans. Trying to determine exactly what is over it on deck 14. Thanks

Best bet is to book cabins on floors that are between 2 floors of cabins.  Never book a cabin above or below a bar or casino.  Midship and low has a less vibration. Far aft cabins feel more vibration.  Bow cabins feel more motion. Look at deck plans.

@SATaxman

We have been in 12017 on Riviera and being under the gym was not an issue, at least not  for us.  I can not recall any issues with dropped barbells, etc.  DW loved the access to the Artists Loft for her classes and how easy it was for me to bring her glasses of wine to help her creative juices to flow. 😇. The Oceania Suites are Outstanding IMHO, and a good value when compared to the upper suites.
Have a fabulous trip. We will be back on Marina in November to check out her refurb in the PH’s and above as well as the public areas. Definitely looking forward to our Med and TA trips.

Thanks. We have been in 11080 and also have that same O Suite on a 2025 cruise. Neither 11th floor one was available for our 2024 cruise.

@SATaxman

If that booking in 2025 is in 12007 and on Vista, be aware you are under the Stage and seating areas of Horizons and the music does go on into the night up there.  We met some people in October who were in an O Suite and she was VERY UNHAPPY, even the GM could not get enough done to accommodate her with the evening music noise and believe me he tried. We had dinner with him and heard that whole story 🙏🤬🤞. I know O knows that it is an issue and they are working on solutions for both Vista and Allura. they flipped decks for Hoizons and the Aquamar  Spa and Gym and encountered this major problem. It is not a similar issue on Marina or Riviera since Horizons is two decks up.

I am not aware of any Oceania suite, which is the topic of this post, that meets that criteria.  They are either under the spa/fitness rooms or are under the Terrace Cafe.  We have never had any serious noise problems at either location.  In the ones under the Cafe, you do sometimes hear tables/chairs moving, but the view from the wrap-around balcony more than makes up for that minor problem, in my opinion, and are the best suites on the ship (other than the OS of course).

So who designed that and couldn't they foresee the problem? Seems like a no brainer.

@ORV

I am sure we all can guess who approved this design but I am sure it falls back on Fincantierri in Italy because all these noise issues we read about on Vista were not supposed to be happening. No one would intentionally create this nightmare.  Now lets see how they fix it and keep it from happening again on Allura.
