are there cancellations closer to sailing

Recommended Posts

I just started looking at cruise for next year that have a stop on Germany

I saw that RC has one for next sept

however it looks like its just about totally filled

the only thing that comes up

is a guarantee where RC picks your room

so Im wondering/hoping that closer to sailing or when PIF date comes

are the cancellations

should I just keep stalking the website to see if anything else opens

we only did one RC cruise and that was in 2015

any tips or advice would be very helpful

also do RC fill up this far in advance

DCL still has quite a few cabins open for this year in sept

if we hadnt just been on the British isles cruise last year wed jump on this one

thanks

Unique itineraries tend to have earlier booking. There will surely be some who drop out when final payment comes, but if you really want that sailing you might want to book now and, depending if you are able, make future changes to your reservation if a specific cabin comes up that you want.

While cabins may become available, you may not like the pricing.

Look at a site like cruiseplum to see the pricing and availability trend (it usually has one year's worth of data).

You need to go back and look again.

There are cabins for 2, 3 or 4 guests with a choose your room option for every category of room for the Sept 29th sailing on the Indy.  The ship is no where ear being sold out

Just so you are aware, with US based bookings, the guarantee options typically are at a lower cruise fare, which is their appeal for the trade off of having the cruise line select the stateroom.  If booked this way, you will be assigned a stateroom in the category you select (and possibly higher) so there is no risk in that.

Once assigned, if you are not happy with the location, you can contact whomever you booked through and as long as there is still availability within the assigned sub-category they can advise you of alternative locations and you can switch your assignment accordingly at n/c.  This also can offset any concerns over potentially undesirable location assignments.
