Do you want pricing transparency with no additional costs beyond the advertised fare or not?

Pricing transparency does not mean everyone will have the same bottom line. People fly from different airports booked through the cruise line or do not use the cruise line's air program. People book different addons.

All this does is not lead people to think that they are getting a certain price and then find at the end it is much higher. Not everyone is as experienced as you. For instance, someone booking a cruise for the first time may very well be unaware that the bottom line includes port fees and taxes not shown in the price first advertised.

You mean like when stores advertise a price but when one gets to the check out register sales taxes are then applied?  IOW, no one who has ever shopped should be confused.

No, I mean it like when you check out an item and are offered an optional warranty. You can, but do not have to buy that and have it added onto the price.

I realize in Europe generally the VAT (value added tax) is included and that is different from most states in the USA where sales tax is then added to the listed price.

Concerning cruises, when I call our TA and ask him to price what we are looking to book, he gives me a bottom line price. If and when we book the cruise, he sends an invoice which has the total broken out, fare, airfare if we had purchased it, port fees and taxes, etc.
