Jacksonville?!?!?!Is it still part of Florida?

Recommended Posts

I Read through ten pages of posts looking for any tips about Jax-port, but not one mention...

Haven't been to Jax in probably a decade, so was curious if anything has changed at the port or parking-wise.

Will probably make the short drive down the morning of the cruise, so just need to find out about parking and boarding.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yes, we are still here.......been here all of my life. Never sail from here though. We only have 1 old Carnival cruise ship. From what I have read, NCL will be starting to sail 1 ship from here too.....can't remember when that is happening though.

I believe Norwegian Gem begins sailing from JAXPORT in November, 2025.

Jacksonville has really always been part of southern Georgia.

Culturally, at least.

Even Pensacola is more "Florida" than Jacksonville.

And the location of Tallahassee was based on the distance between Pensacola and St Augustine, not Jacksonville, which wasn't officially founded until the 1830s.
