Another Deluxe Beverage Question - 2 adults, 1 package

Recommended Posts

Hi there everyone, I’m hoping someone is able to help me out with an answer.

We are cruising in August and usually buy two deluxe alcohol packages. However, one of us is diamond and drinks free in the casino. For that reason, is it still valid that I’m able to buy one refreshment beverage package and then call into Royal Caribbean to only buy one deluxe beverage package?

I know I have seen some people do it in the past, but I’m curious if anyone’s had any luck recently? Thank you in advance.

I just did this during the last Burbon Day promotion a couple of weeks ago.  I called Customer Service and was able to buy the DBP for DH and the Refreshment Package for myself.  I do believe you have to purchase both at the same time when calling Customer Service.  I don't think you can purchase one package through the Cruise Planner and the other by phoning.  However, I usually purchase both packages at the same time so not positive on that.

Thank you for this information. I may give it a try.

My dh and I are both Diamond, get the 4 vouchers each and my dh only drinks beer and on vacation will drink less than I do.

I make full use of the UBP and start my day with champs and make full use all day/night.

What happens, though, if you see the price go down? Can you call Royal, cancel and rebook like you can do online?

Thank you.

Wife bought the refreshment package a few days ago when it was on sale.  I was going to save money and not get a package this time.  However, I caved and decided I wanted the deluxe drink package.  We called this morning and they didn't have a problem adding it for me.  We had to call, I could not do it online.

My dh drinks Diet Coke. I drink water, seltzer, coffee and alcohol LOL

If you see the package go down, can you just call and get it readjusted?

I've only been asked a few times... I'd just tell them he doesn't drink... I wouldn't include the explanation of beer preference.  The simplest explanation is usually the best explanation.

We didn't ask, but I am assuming it would work the same as everything else.  I have booked and cancelled online quite a few times when I found a better price.  This is the first time we called and booked two different drink packages.
