mike45orlando Posted June 28 #1 Share Posted June 28 (edited) For those in the local area, still no details on actual arrival time. Port Canaveral, Florida is planning a community celebration for the arrival of Royal Caribbean's Utopia of the Seas cruise ship on July 11, 2024: Jetty Park: The public will be invited to Jetty Park to watch the ship sail in. Naming ceremony: There will be a naming ceremony before the ship's first revenue sailing on July 19, 2024 Edited June 28 by mike45orlando punctuation 5
Rare BirdTravels Posted June 28 #2 Share Posted June 28 We were on the inaugural voyage (first revenue after naming) of the Symphony of the Seas and Wonder of the Seas. They were very special!

Was the crew ready, or did you have to roll with it and make the best of some situations? Thanks! The Symphony had done some European cruises before doing the TA to Miami to be christened, so she was a well oiled machine. They scheduled a late departure from Miami so that could do a big fireworks show over the port for the ship. The Wonder of the Seas was a true maiden voyage after a non-revenue repositioning from the shipyard. It was at the end of COVID when the cruise line was still having severe supply chain problems. After the first ice show, the cruise director admitted that 80% of the props and scenery for the show was still missing. And both the theater and aqua shows were only partial shows. Like the Symphony, there lots of swag in the room nightly and special, once-in-a-lifetime activities like steak, lobster and seafood extravaganza at the Windjammer and Solarium buffet for embarkation lunch. (Can hardly get a lobster tail now... let alone all you can eat). We were on RCCL's first post-covid restart cruise on the Adventure of the Seas out of Nassau. NCL's first post-covid restart cruise out of Seattle, and NCL inaugural cruises on their Breakaway, Getaway, Escape, Bliss, Encore, Prima, and Viva ships. So,,, for us, it is more of an adventure. Unfortunately, we did not book the inaugural Icon or Utopia, but will be sailing on the Utopia soon after. NCL also does some specials like the all-you-can-eat shrimp, king crab legs, and sushi for special cruises. I would certainly be willing to deal with a few hiccups to get food like that! Plus, it sounds like a true celebratory atmosphere, which has to be so exciting! You have me thinking that I need to look into the maiden voyage for the Star of the Seas!
SherriZ366 Posted June 30 #6 Share Posted June 30 I'll be following this thread as information about Utopia's arrival should be updated before her arrival in Port Canaveral. We can also track her progress on the cruise tracking websites. 1
The sea calls my name Posted July 1 #7 Share Posted July 1 We were on the Inaugural Sailing of the Icon and it was unbelievable. Service was impeccable and the welcome aboard buffet in the WJ was like none I have ever experienced. 4

Thanks for the update. I can't seem to find anything official yet and it seems that the Utopia will come in by 8AM on Thursday. We hope it's later. I think the focus may be on a bigger party at Jetty Park on the 19th for the first official sail away.
