More big chunks, this time in the cookie department

I was feeling pretty confident that I won't be too tempted by desserts on our upcoming cruise. Then I see the raggedy home-made looking oatmeal raisin cookies and of all things, those are my temptation. They look good.

The show in the theatre tonight is a magician. Magicians irritate me.

After watching the Barbie movie in the cabin I headed up to The Grill for cheesy fries. I have had a hankering for cheesy fries all day.

It was too cold to be outside so I checked out Horizon Court. It was here that I made a little magic of my own when I discovered the theme was European and the action station was fondue. You bet I got a bowl of the cheese dipping part of the fondue and added in the best french fries at sea!

That was one of the drinks my boy chose for me. Not something I would ever order, but surprisingly good. For a 13 year old, he has pretty good taste in cocktails!

Both your kids are skilled in the bar department! I can’t wait to cruise with them when they are bar managers and beverage managers!

What is leftover OBC ?  LOL

I once had $800 left over. On our Australia/New Zealand trip last year I had hundreds of dollars (AUD) left over and they mailed me the check. This was left over even after a couple of stupidly expensive Princess excursions. What surprised me is that they used what I considered a proper exchange rate when mailing it to me in USD. When most things are included in my fare I rarely go out of my way to blow the OBC. I do tend to play a the slots a bit when it's "their money" but, sadly, I am always a loser.

I don't need another watch. I don't need a GoPro camera. I despise scent. I checked out liquor pricing one time and a liter of Bushmills at Trader Joe's - even after adding on taxes - was less than buying it "duty free" on the ship. My wife has checked out the jewelry and passed on it every time.  I certainly wouldn't consider buying any of their much touted giclee "art". I wonder how many people don't realize that "giclee" is just fancy ink jet printing? The word itself only dates from 1991.

The violet cloud tasted like old people…

Okay... I'm not sure how old people actually taste but I get the gist. You made my wife laugh out loud. 😁

@ceilidh1 how do you feel about Sailing Through Orchards?

That’s what I’m drinking now. It’s amazing! Perfect for a cold night next to an iceberg.

That is my wife's favorite cruising cocktail. It doesn't seem to be available anywhere other than Crooner's and she has to be sure to specify "on the rocks" rather than "shaken" as she didn't like the way shaking diluted the flavor of the drink. We often snag one of these for her on our way to the theater or if we are listening to music in Crooner's.

You have me convinced if I take a princess cruise I may eat in the buffet every night.

I’m so excited! We are so close to Greenland. We must have made good time yesterday and today because now we are moving slowly. So slowly I don’t even think what we are doing could be measured in knots. More like doggie paddles. We are only a few doggie paddles away from Nuuk! I can tell we are close to land because the kittiwakes and the icebergs are now prolific.

I have my breakfast order form on the cabin door, undies are drying on a hanger, my bag is packed and ready for a morning of exploring and an afternoon boating through the fjords and my heart is bursting with joy at the thought of visiting Greenland tomorrow.

I was sad to close the drapes tonight and shut out the icebergs.  It is midnight and still daylight.

Stats from today:

number of mini egg sandwiches I ate at afternoon tea: 2

number of icebergs seen: 14

number of pieces of art I bought at the lightning fast art auction: 0

number of pieces of art the guy next to me bought at the lightning fast art auction: 5!

number of deck laps I did today: 7

number of new drinks I tried today: 2

total number of drinks consumed by me today: we won’t talk about that

Doesn’t it all look yummy? I like going there just to look!  Not only does it look appealing, everything I’ve tried has been excellent.
