Cruiser418Low Posted July 7 #1 Share Posted July 7 I will be sailing on Enchanted Princess from NYC. The ports are as follows. - Newport, RI - Boston, MA - Bar Harbor, Maine - Saint John, Canada - Halifax Canada - 1 day at sea For Caribbean destinations, I would purchase wifi because there are more days at sea and some of the countries don't have free Verizon wireless coverage. I know I'll get cell service in all the ports in the US and Canada, but what about when the ship is moving at night and during a full day at sea? You won't have land based cell service on this itinerary-- the ship will be far enough out and the ship's own cell service will be the most powerful signal to your phone (if you take it off airplane mode or Wifi). Agree you'll have ample Verizon service at any of these ports.
Rare 1025cruise Posted July 7 #3 Share Posted July 7 As long as not having service while not in port is not an issue, no need to purchase internet service on your ship (that is provided via the ship's wifi that is available to all). Also, please confirm you are still going to Bar Harbor. There have been a lot of cancellations. I can also verify that in Bar Harbor, cell service is spotty to begin with.
