Loyalty level for spouse

When looking at my Travel Summary, I am listed as Platinum for Circle Status, and my husband (who I’ve done every cruise with) is listed as BLUE. He should be Platinum…not sure what Blue is? Worth calling about? Thank you.

Do you have a travel agent? If so, I would enlisted their help. If not try ,to get a hold of Princess and the Captains Circle loyalty department. They just need to look into your husband‘s cruise history and change it. Blue is first time cruiser, I think. Gold is after that. Platinum status as I’m sure you already know is after you complete five cruises or 50 cruise days -so on your sixth cruise or your 51st day.

My guess is that somehow your husband's loyalty number did not get entered or was entered incorrectly, so a whole new account was set up for him.  Definitely if you have a TA, they can call in and get the accounts merged or just have the new incorrect one deleted.  If you booked directly, I recommend using the chat feature to contact Princess as it is usually easier/quicker than a phone call.

This can easily be corrected on board. Most causes for this issue are his Captain circle number was mistyped or not provided when booked. Go to Future cruise/Loyalty as they are one in the same now on Princess.

I see @rebeccacis a faster typer than me.

Log into your DH’s account on the website.  Does it show Platinum?
Compare the Captain circle number, is it correct?

You need PCL to correct this.  I would not want to deal with it OB, unless you have to.

Try calling:  1 (866) 288-5038

Loyalty desk.  If you can’t get through,

email the department, give your full names, dob, Captain circle numbers and tell them his should be merged, if they show 2 numbers, etc.

Give them your booking number.

captainscircle@princesscruises.com

If your TA/CVP will help, that’s even better.  Check with them first.

Let us know what works!

Just called and they fixed the issue. Thank you everyone for the suggestions. I really wish that Princess had a USA help number though, where you could understand the rep better and without all the background noise. I had to keep asking the young man to repeat himself. I think it’s time to find a TA! 🤣

I have a similar but separate question that ties in to this thread.

How does Princess treat spouses that are at different loyalty levels?

I have thought I have read that when in same cabin all Elite Benefits carry over to those in the stateroom.  I also though I read that you could contact Princess to have the loyalty level of a spouse modified to have matching loyalty.  I could not find a post on this in my search but I thought I read it somewhere.

@MattnTricia my spouse is platinum and I am elite. Have never heard of spouse being modified to have matching loyalty if they didn’t obtain the status, but maybe there is?

As far as the elite benefits, you can just make sure that the elite person puts their name on the laundry/ dry cleaning that Sends out. Same with the one time minibar set up per voyage -your spouse can share that with you. The complementary Grapevine wine tasting is only for the elite person. Platinum person either has to pay or I’m not even sure they can go ? The canapés on formal night, of course you can share and the traditional afternoon tea in the stateroom you can share. as far as the discount in the onboard store, just make sure the elite person pays for items with their medallion. And the priority tender everyone in the cabin can benefit from that.

Not discounting that a good TA would be knowledgable and experienced, but for this kind of thIng and to avoid your call center problems with background noise and heavy accents, book your next cruise through a Princess CVP. If issues arise, in our experience, one call, direct line.

More interested in the tenders as my spouse doesn't typically drink.  Thanks for the info

Your spouse will be able to accompany you to get priory tender service. Normally, Elite passengers are designated to go to a specific location where they will then be escorted or told to proceed to tender boarding area, when a tender is ready.

Your spouse is not ‘granted’ elite status, but can accompany you for priority tender service.

For whatever reason, they changed my husband’s member # since our last Princess cruise in September 2023. I guess I just figured you kept the same one. Mine is the same, so I thought his would be too (maybe because I do all the bookings and he never logs in?). Anyway, they verified that he is still Platinum so I guess that’s all that matters.

No! Princess does not just change your Captain Circle number. Most likely his originally assigned number was not added to your booking, so Princess assumed this was his first sailing with Princess and assigned him a ‘new’ number and why his status was showing ‘blue’, new to Princess.

Make sure ALL of his sailings are reflected in his record. Princess should have merged all his past sailings to this new number or vise versa.
