Weather conditions in the citrus growing regions in the US and Brazil (apparently about 70% of the world’s OJ production is from Brazil) coupled with a citrus disease known as citrus greening. It’s looking like a record low yield in Brazil, and conditions have gone long enough that frozen reserves are running low. 
 

There are a number of good articles out there, and some pretty crappy ones. Similar, but different, to the drought caused beef shortages.
