Shuttles from Port to Town

We are sailing the Silver Spirit next week from Southampton to Reykjavik, there are a couple of Ports where the ship docks away from the town, specifically Kirkwall in Orkney. Does Silversea typically provide Shuttles to and from Town in these circumstances ? My experience is that Oceania & Azamara do and hope Silversea do also but I would hate to assume !

We have not been to Kirkwall but we did zodiac or tender to a number of small ports around Scotland last year on the Cloud.  Every little town is right at the quayside and the local ferries and other shuttle craft land there.  It looks from the map that this is true of Kirkwall too so you should have no trouble strolling right into the heart of town.

Thanks, this ship docks 2.5 miles from the centre of town in Kirkwall, so hoping there is a shuttle.

We visited Kirkwall on the Wind before it was an Expedition ship and a shuttle to town was provided. It was a while ago but doubt they would change it.

There was a shuttle from the dock to town in Kirkwall when we were there as well. We had arranged a rental car from a local agency and the shuttle driver insisted on taking us right to the rental agency!

Just be aware that The Spirit may not Dock - we were there on her in June and she anchored, with a Tender ride into Town.Not a pleasant experience as it was cold, raining and not that smooth a ride !!!

I visited Kirkwall on the Spirit 2 years ago and there was a frequent shuttle into town.
