Hi all,

Anyone have any experience (good or bad) with any of the other luggage forwarding operations other than White Star/Luggage Forward?

Looking to ship bags from Southampton to Bray UK and/or Frankfurt Airport.

Thanks in advance.

We used

The Baggage Handling Company

to send bags home [S'ton to UK address] a couple of times.

Couldn't fault the service at all.

Agreed - used The Baggage Handling several times to both send and return luggage with no problems whatsoever. Always arrive within their time slot.

Thanks folks. How do I know which terminal the QM2 will arrive into at Southampton as all of the services require postcodes for quotes?

The Baggage Handling Company only need date and ship and they will know which terminal as it can change even on the day

The problem with using that information in advance is that it can, as I said earlier, change even on the day.

It is far better to use date/ship

Can you explain how it works please?

We use Airpotr when we're flying, it's brilliant. Picks up our luggage from home and checks it in, leaving us footloose and (hands) free till we pick it up on the carousel at our destination. We'd really appreciate not having to think about luggage on our return to Southampton.

TIA

We used it at the end of a couple of world cruise segments for a couple of years.

Book the bags in online with all the required details [the company will know which cruise terminal the ship will be using from your details], disembark, collect luggage from the luggage hall, walk through to the exit and there will be a person with a sign by the side of their large van with signage, waiting to take the bags off you.

The bag/s will be delivered a day or two later to the address given.

It really is that simple.

Sounds fab, just what we're looking for, thank you so much for your prompt response.

They also will take your luggage the other way. Make necessary arrangements and then your luggage is collected from your home a two or three days pre cruise and next time you see it is outside your cabin/suite door.

Can you give me a rough idea about how much it could cost to use Airpotr to ship a carryon bag from Southampton to the US? Many thanks!
