Mid Afternoon flight out of Orlando after Port Canaveral Cruise

Recommended Posts

Cruising on the MSC Seashore returning on Thurs., Aug 15th.  Flight out of MCO isn't until 3:30.  We will not have a rental car so we are wondering what we could do to kill a few hours after we disembark.  Will either Uber or take a shuttle back to MCO.

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Does the cruise line offer any post cruise excursions that then drop you off at airport..?   We’ve done resort for the day but with flight at3:30 don’t know if it’s worth it.  You’d probably have to leave the resort by 1 to get there 2 hours before your flight

A 3:30PM departure doesn't give you a lot of time to do anything, especially if you've got baggage to contend with. You could go to the airport and see if you can check-in your baggage that early. Some airlines have a 3 hour rule but many don't. With no baggage, you could take take a taxi to the Florida Mall which is just 15-20 minutes away. It has the normal assortment of stores and restaurants including a number of foreign brands you won't find in many U.S. malls: https://savepleasureisland.blogspot.com/2024/07/international-flavor-at-florida-mall.html

If you're stuck at the airport, the main A/B terminal (before Security) has a large food court for lunch plus WDW, Universal & Sea World stores.

That's a tough one, we had a similar situation a year ago, our flight was scheduled for 230pm, we just ended up getting to the airport at 9am, and just hung out there. The time actually went by faster than I thought.

We left the ship with our bathing suits under our clothes. We then took an Uber to the Cocoa Beach pier and rented beach chairs and an umbrella. At first we felt a little funny with our luggage but nobody cares. We got lunch at the pier and had a pretty nice day. Took an Uber to MCO and changed in the bathroom.

you really don't have much time to kill. Drag you feet and be close to last off the ship ...0900. Hour to the airport. 1000

MCO says be there 2 hours early (and I always do this) equals 1:30pm. So you have 3 1/2 hours ..... going anywhere off site means at LEAST 30 minutes each way leaving 2 1/2 hours .....

the airport hotel rents day rooms ....
