NCL Transport Marco Polo Airport to Trieste

Recommended Posts

Hello ,

We are joining the Pearl on the 6th September 2024  sailing from Trieste, flying into Marco Polo .

Staying a few days before the cruise in Trieste .

NCL say that they only provide airport to ship on the day of the sailing, though I'm sure that I read on a CCritic review that NCL had provided transport a few days before the sailing???.

Otherwise it will be the Flexibus or a taxi .

thanks for any information.

You can also take the train from Maestre - short bus ride or taxi from the airport.

There is also GoOpti, a shared shuttle service.  Used them before and they were very good. About EUR 30 pp.  You can find them online.

If you're going to Trieste directly from the airport, Flixbus usually has a couple of departures per day that leave from VCe.   That would be the easiest option if an NL option isn't available.

Otherwise you can catch a cab to Mestre (40e , 20 minutes)  and take the train from Mestre station.

either option takes about 2 1/2hrs and cost about 20e.

They also have a bus that runs direct from Marco Polo to Mestre train station and then it's a two hour train ride to Trieste. I spent a couple days in Trieste before a cruise last April and enjoyed it.

You will need to provide your own transport. Check the NCL boards and the Italy port of call boards for lots of discussions.

Yes, they are air conditioned, very comfortable.

The only issue we had was the signage at the airport being almost non existent - managed to find the right place though.

Enjoy your trip!

Hello,

How strict are Flexbus on carryon luggage ...my hand luggage is 52x40x18 cms .

The carry on measurements on Flexbus website are 42x30x18cms .

Thanks

You put your luggage in the hold beneath the bus.  There was no luggage rack inside (like the kind you would see at the end of a train carriage).

And the overhead rack was narrow, maybe big enough for a small backpack.

So nowhere to put your suitcase if you bring it on board, unless you want it on your lap for 2 1/2 hrs.

I only travel with a 22" case but I put it in the hold with everyone else's.
