looking at cruises on both these ships. I know they are both older

which would you choosr

Celebrith Solstice.   Or

IMHO, Solstice hands down.  Newer ship, great layout, and Celebrity over NCL any day.  Only caveat might be itineraries.

IMO the decision would be based on consideration of a few significant additional factors beyond just the ship.  Itinerary would be an important part of this along with total cruise cost.  Equally important would be my cruising style preferences and expectations for the on board experience. NCL's primary target demographics is families, and the on board venues and activities reflect that. Expect a lot of children to be on board. Celebrity's primary target demographics is adults 50+/- and their on board venues and activities differ significantly from NCL to reflect that, with far less children likely on board.  IMO Celebrity is a more sedate, traditional cruising style versus NCL.

 

In other words, you are looking at two rather opposite selections and IMO should take that into primary consideration with your decision.  But to your question, itinerary etc. the same, my choice without hesitation would be Solstice.  JMO.

to get  helpful replies, you would need to give more info.  EG

 

Will you be travelling

solo

as a couple,

as a multi-generational family,

as a couple with with young kids

or with teens

for a special occasion,

 

and which part of the world are you considering? and maybe which month of the year?
