I think it’s calmed down a bit, and we seem to have slowed down some. I spent some time in the thermal spa which was great.(Besides a little incident with a naked old man in the steam room, lol). Also I’m slightly up in the casino. I’m about a half an hour, I’ll go get changed for dinner and fun this evening.

This is my first time being affected by the dreaded CC upside down picture! No matter how many times I delete and re-post it, it’s always upside down. Ugh…

We went to the VIP cocktail party, it was short, about 30 min, but I connected with the executive housekeeper Jose who is a wonderful guy.  We chatted about my time working on the Pride of America 10 years ago. I mentioned a manager I had my first contract in housekeeping. He said Bagus on the Gem, and  is he’s going to the Gem on September 5th. He offered to take a not to Bagus for me. Bagus is the one who helped me get the job at Guest Services. I’m so glad I’ll be able to pass he a note, he’s someone I’ve thought about for years. Now we’re at dinner. I’ll post pics of the menu and food as soon as we’re done, I don’t want my mom to get mad at me, lol.

It’s crazy that the only potatoes on this ship are French fries. No mashed, or breakfast potatoes of any kind. Also no corned beef hash or bagels. Maybe they’ll be delivered tomorrow in Dublin?

Sounds like questions for the Restaurant Manager Noel Chaves or whoever is the Food and Beverage Director.

Alright I am not rally a cruise ship production show person. After 29 cruises, they all are so similar, using the same song bits with just different costumes and dance moves. The shows on Celebrity’s Edge class are in a league of their own though. We rushed to the show after dinner, and I wished I could leave after five minutes. It’s REALLY foggy off the coast of Ireland right now, so the foghorn is going off every three minutes. I love it.

I’m REALLY excited for Dublin tomorrow, it’s my first time in Ireland. We have the Dublin on your own tour, so we booked a tour to Trinity College, and Dublin Castle. I originally had a tour to the Jameson Distillery, but our itinerary changed in April, and all of our port calls got shortened. We also lost our call in Oslo Norway, which was a bummer. We were only supposed to be there for 6 hours but it was looking forward to it. Time for 1 more beer, and then bed.

The 70’s party is going off in Bliss!! The band onboard is GREAT! The wine bar is slowing down, the singer in the atrium just finished, but Guest Services is pretty busy.

Good morning from off the coast of Dun Laoghaire Ireland! Today is one of two early tours, it’s a 7:55am meet time in the theater. I didn’t need to set an alarm, I was woken by the bow thrusters at 5:50am.  We’re going to try and get a quick breakfast in the dining room before the tour. My fingers are crossed that this weather holds, last night there was a 60% chance of showers.

Oh, before I forget I need to give a shout out to @MeganGC1983. She convinced me to start this live, instead of my usual FB updates. With practice I hope to one day reach her level of mastery with CC live reviews. She’s one of the best!!

When taking landscape pictures, make sure the shutter button is on the right hand side of the phone.

Following!  what did you love most about Europe on your first trip there?

Ooo, that’s a tough one, since I’ve only been to England and Ireland so far. I’ll come back to this later in the week.

Hello!! Sorry I’ve been gone so long, it was a long day in Dublin that started out a bit funky. Nothing too bad, just a bit of a disorganized tender process with our tour. Dublin was WONDERFUL, we had a quick visit to Dublin Castle and a great, but very crowded tour of the old library at Trinity College and the Book of Kells. I’ve got to run to meet my mom for dinner, I’ll update you all in a little bit.

Dinner in Venetian was pretty good tonight. We had a reservation at Los Lobos, but my mom was tired from the day, so we moved it to Friday. We’re leaving Dun Laoghaire right now, and the view from our table is awesome.

One thing I’m not used to here, and I keep forgetting to ask for it, is coffee. Every other cruise line that I’ve sailed they always offer coffee before they bring out dessert. I guess I should ask at the beginning when the we take our order?

We were surprised at how slow the dining room seemed to be tonight. Most people are at the Garden Cafe, and they have a nice selection tonight. The special tonight is ribs and are very popular. The nacho bar looks good too.
