But have read about people who do. @3smithboys make sure you get your 5%+5% off and $50 per person OBC now that you have matched and are booking far out. Perhaps you have already done this, just wouldn’t want you to miss out. I matched Elite+ (my bookings are Nov and Dec 2025). What is 5%+5%? And do both people in the cabin have to have a status level to get $50 OBC each? Edited Monday at 12:02 AM by rrraydon

Why don’t you start you own thread so you can discuss/argue about it all you want. I started this one so I could get information about MSC YC from helpful people and don’t want this to devolve into an argument over cabin location, which we have 0 control over. I haven't seen posts about an epidemic of inside cabin dwellers infiltrating YC on that ship. While that doesn't prove anything, it sure makes me feel like your hysteria is unnecessary. I'll ignore the rest of your questions as this has nothing to do with me and my cruising history. 1

I'm pretty sure you get 5% discount for booking so far out and a 5% discount for being a Voyager club member... I don't see on either of my invoices that I received either of those discounts. I will be calling about this tomorrow. I do see a $50 OBC on my Dec cruise (that one is a solo), but I only see one $50 OBC on my Nov cruise on World America. That one is not a solo and my friend has never sailed MSC before so has no status at this time. Edited Monday at 12:37 AM by rrraydon

Both gave us the same Silver level. If your friend had anything listed on the website that can be used to match, they can fill out the form online and can get the status match as well.

Guess that is because it's strictly a European itinerary. Will be interested to see how things develop when the World America start sailing. 13 hours ago, asctony said: How can you or anyone suspect this will or won't be a problem? Walls? SMH It's a bit unclear to me from the posts what the concern or confusion is. The interior cabins identified do not have access to the YC area on the WE (we did her repositioning sailing from Dubai to Genoa so spent a long time on her in the YC). There is a separate hallway from the (non-YC) lift area to access those cabins. There are key card doors to the other YC hallways and YC areas that prevent access. Now "interlopers" could always be an issue as anyone could follow a YC guest into the YC area. However, I'm not sure what the concern would be. First, in our experience the YC staff very quickly know who is in the YC (and would escort anyone who is not, out). Second, you're not going to get service anywhere in the YC without a YC key card (even if you weren't noticed by staff)....so at best, I guess you could sit in the lounge or on the sun deck unnoticed, but it's not like you're going to be able to eat at the restaurant or get drinks at a bar in the YC. Maybe there's another concern I'm missing. However, I can report we never experienced any issues with "interlopers". Uh, yeah....when they clearly recognize you as a YC guest. I have always been asked to produce a card unless greeted by name. Based on my seven YC cruises I have seen ZERO chance a non YC guest makes it into the YC areas and is able to get food or drink. Anything is theoretically possible.
3smithboys Posted Tuesday at 10:15 PM Author #70 Share Posted Tuesday at 10:15 PM Another question… I noticed that there is a lot of champagne and wine offered in YC. I suffer from migraines and tend to avoid wine, and DH isn’t a wine drinker; however, we both are cocktail drinkers. Can we get cocktails served at dinner in the YC? Witnessed a lady pounding on the glass YC entry door, very upset that her non-YC card would not let her enter. Was even more upset with me when I would not let her in. In a subsequent chat with the YC Matire 'd he mentioned that he removed a couple from the YC restaurant. A check of their cruise card revealed that they were in a cabin on Deck 14. Despite what you want to believe, interlopers do exist. Also, check out the YouTube video I referenced in a previous quote. This is not theory, it's observed fact.

Thanks, @chrisgp999 Two great examples of where people are not successful interloping in the YC area. Appreciate the additional confirmation that it's both hard for interlopers to access the YC area, and those that may happen to are recognized by the YC staff and removed.
