Rare Jamman54 Posted October 11 Author #427 Share Posted October 11 Patti got these pictures while Cruise Director Lee Mason read the story of Horton Hears a Who….. Afterwards, Patti joined me in the casino to play the video poker machines. We played for a couple hours. I won a couple hundred dollars, and Patti lost a little bit. We made our way back to the cabin where we see that Jason has left us today’s towel creature….. To be continued……
Crusin Karen Posted October 11 #428 Share Posted October 11 I was in that medical center twice over my Easter Venezia cruise. Fractured 6 ribs on the left and 7 on the right and my sternum. Place is pretty “primitive.” Nothing like the medical center on TV’s Dr Odyssey! 🙄🤔😁

#Bluesea Posted October 11 #432 Share Posted October 11 I agree the medical center is nothing like what we see on tv but I have to praise the medical staff for all they did while we were on the Vista this past May. My husband became very ill very fast. Without warning he went from not feeling good during the day to becoming critical that night. I can't say enough about the care we received! Unfortunately we had to leave the ship and he was in ICU for 5 days. Carnival was so supportive and did everything they could to help him and I. Thankfully all ended well. His care at the hospital was great. We were in the DR. (Amber Cove) So to say the medical area is primitive, yes it may be, but the doctors and nurses are outstanding! That was our first and hopefully the last time we need them!
Rare Jamman54 Posted October 11 Author #433 Share Posted October 11 Lee makes the announcement that he has been promoted to a Fleet Cruise Director. Congratulations Lee!!! Lee invites couple up on stage for a dance….. Afterwards, we head back to the cabin to relax. Around 6pm we head down to Bonsai Sushi for dinner. Passing through the Atrium, we see that the Sunny Violins are playing….. Once at Bonsai Sushi, we are given a table by the window….. To be continued…..
Rare Jamman54 Posted October 11 Author #434 Share Posted October 11 We do our usual order. Patti’s having a green salad, edamame, and California rolls….. I’m having Miso soup, bang bang rolls, and chicken & pork skewers…. It was another great meal. Afterwards, we walk back to the Gondola Lounge where we see Impromptwo performing….. This is the Gondola Lounge Bar….. We decide to head back to the cabin. I’m feeling like I’m coming down with the cruise crud. Fortunately, we brought along the meds so hopefully I can knock it down. Coming up next: Our day in Saint John.

We've only had to use the Medical Center a couple of times over the years, and never for something that critical, but the doctors and nurses were wonderful. My dads company had season loge seat tickets and I’ve been going to games since I was a little girl! My DH was brought up in the Bronx also. Moved to my town when we were in 10th grade and we went to school together and whole family LOVES our Yankees. 👍👍
Indiansbaseball Posted October 11 #441 Share Posted October 11 (edited) We got off the ship Friday October 4th. Sunday I started with a sore throat. Quickly turned into a head cold. I always seem to get sick after flying. I wore a mask on the flight there but never did after that . I hope as your story continues, it doesn’t turn into much. We may be interested. 😎 Hi Jeff. We are planning on booking the Del Mar Latino for an upcoming cruise next year. There will be five adults and one has a food allergy (gluten). We like that we can walk there from the pier. (Margaritaville Islander). We have watched YouTube videos and it looks very nice. Have you been there before? We would love to hear what you think. Last time we did Cozumel we went to Paradise Beach which we really liked. This time we just don’t want to have to take a taxi. Thank you to you and Patti for your wonderful reviews. Rare Jamman54 Posted October 11 Author #443 Share Posted October 11 Hey Wini, thanks for reading! We've never been to Del Mar Latino, so we are anxious to try it out. We also love Paradise Beach and will be going there as well next year. We will be in Cozumel three times next year. 😎
Rare Jamman54 Posted October 11 Author #444 Share Posted October 11 Day # 13 – (September 12th) - Saint John, NB (7am – 5pm). We were up at 6:30am just as the sun was coming up. We are already docked here at our last port of call, Saint John. It’s going to be a partly cloudy day with the temperatures in the mid 60’s. Here are today’s Fun Times…… Once again, our side of the ship is facing the port. The following are our views from our balcony. Looking forward you can see that construction continues between the port and Market Square….. Here are some views of the Waterfront Container Village and the Cruise Terminal….. To be continued……
Rare Jamman54 Posted October 11 Author #445 Share Posted October 11 Here are a few more views of the Waterfront Container Village and the Cruise Terminal….. Looking all the way aft we see the Norwegian Breakaway about to dock at the other cruise terminal….. This is the view from the forward ship cam….. We are in no hurry to leave the ship as we don’t have any excursions booked. As usual I head up to Java Blue for my morning coffee, and then come back to work on pictures. At 10am we leave the ship and head into the Cruise Terminal…… To be continued…….

Rare Jamman54 Posted October 11 Author #450 Share Posted October 11 Here’s one of the entrances to the Market Square….. HAL’s Volendam is docked across the way….. The Bay of Fundy’s tides are very extreme as you can see from the high water marks on the sea walls. Half of these stairs will be under water at high tide….. We head out on the Harbour Passage where we got some good views of the Venezia and Volendam….. Just like Hollywood, Saint John also has a sign up on the hill….. Here is some info posted along the Harbour Passage….. To be continued……
