Do you have any concerns about going to UAE now.

We are flying through Dubai in December and have a 16 1/2 hour layover

No. It's really far from Israel/Palestine, the Suez canal, and the area where Houthi rebels operate. I'm travelling there in the winter, and and had to look at a map to reassure myself. I ran into two young women who had just been there at an airport. They had a great time. They had a bunch of recommendations about things to do, and no warnings.

No - the level of security in the UAE is really pretty high and the government takes great care to maintain their reputation as a place to do business and for tourism.   If you stay within the airport for the entire time your security concerns are really airpot nonexistent.

 

As an FYI - I will be there shortly as well for several days and really don’t have any security concerns at this time.

Just got back from some work in UAE and Jordan. Had no concerns about either. Heck, I'd still go to Beirut...but I'm a little crazy.
