Is VERMOUTH a WINE 🍷 or a SPIRIT🥃?

Recommended Posts

I know we’re allowed 750ml of wine or champagne (which is also wine) per person on the cruise. Vermouth is considered a fortified wine, like Port or Madeira, but I’m worried RC will not consider it wine but spirits.

Has anyone been permitted to bring sweet vermouth or other fortified wine on board?

It’s our first cruise on Royal Caribbean ship, transpacific to Tokyo & we are excited!

Thanks for your advice!

Welcome to CC.

If the security screening staff even bother to look at the bottle, there's a very good chance they'll let it through.

Vermouth usually has a higher percentage of alcohol than regular wine and therefore might be regarded as a spirit. It´s an aperitivo and therefore also listed under wines on the RCI´s bar menus.
