Yes the entertainment staff lead the free morning piazza stretching thing which is not a gym class and is the least hard thing I have ever seen. All while standing and no stress to any part. I wonder why the OP did not take advantage of this

And post #41 lays #40 to waste.
How many times has this question been asked without a satisfactory answer?

Post 40 states facts. Post 41 says nothing other than someone's laughable made up perception.

Let me clear up your confusion on this post. We are talking about classes that come with a fee in the fitness center, not the complimentary classes for everyone, which are in the piazza, vista lounge, on deck, etc. and led by the entertainment staff. You must have missed the TRX or Spin Class, which are most definitely not suitable for all. Let's all do better by not spreading misinformation.

OP didn’t take a spin or TRX class. She took a stretch class. And I didn’t say ALL fitness classes are taught by entertainment staff. I said dance fitness classes. Your statement I was responding to referenced fitness classes without further clarification. And your attitude throughout this thread is the reason people find gyms and the fitness industrial complex intimidating.

Not long ago - they were all free. Regardless where they were held.

That charging business started with Celebrity, charging even for Zumba because they held it in the fitness center instead of a lounge or the pool deck. After Covid, dance fitness went back to being included.  Yoga varies from cruise line to cruise line, I’ve seen both with and without an upcharge.

You must have missed that OP paid for the class. Should she not be given as much attention as everyone else, or is she not as entitled as you?

Well bless your heart. Needing to be fit to join a fitness class is like saying you need to be already educated to go to school.  Everyone has to start somewhere, and the cruise lines take more effort in rating intensity levels of shore excursions than they do fitness classes. I’ve never seen a fitness class on a cruise ship rated as “advanced,” and Princess does in fact have entertainment staff teaching Zumba and other dance fitness classes.  Be kind. Do better.

You have never taken a spin class on ship ?  It will have the sweat dripping of of you. I have found them almost as hard as my local gym

Entertainment staff does not lead any paid for gym classes. You need to realize the difference between light warm ups in the piazza and actual gym workouts

And dance fitness class is not held in the gym because entertainment staff does not work in the gym

I have seen charges for gym classes for at least 20 years. Free classes are things like morning warm ups, Zumba and tai chi.

No, it's an exercise class led by an instructor. For people who need additional accommodations, great news: fitness instructors have personal training available for a fee. I, along with others, am entitled to receive the class I signed up for, not some watered down version.

So if you take a weights class but can’t do curls or presses with weights what do you think the instructor should do ?

Of course I realize it, I made the distinction in the very post that you quoted. Fitness vs dance fitness.

What does your question have to do with my post? I was responding to the “fitness classes are for the fit” sentiment expressed by another poster.  But I’ll play….if I’m in any fitness class and parts of it are more advanced than my ability, I’d either do the best I could until I got it, or ask the instructor after class if there’s a way to modify until I build sufficient strength. It’s what my students do in my classes 🤷🏻‍♀️

ETA: My issue is with the attitude that fitness classes are for those already fit.

So she is not entitled to the class she signed up for? If the class is too basic for you, maybe you should pay the instructor for an advanced class.

Where was it stated to be a basic class ?  I have taken stretching and balance classes that where very difficult and involved one leg exercises etc   Research should be done before just like anything. Just because something sounds cool doesn’t mean it is for all

Where was it stated that the class was for a specific fitness level? Princess promotes these as being available to everyone.

Keep digging, you are bound to reach the bottom of the hole.

I still don’t get why people think cruise lines gym classes are basic ?

I have never seen spin classes , weight classes or TRX classes been advertised to all. If someone takes a spin class because it is free with a package and just sits on the bike watching people because they cannot or wlll not do the work then they are taking space from others. These classes are limited in size unlike the morning stretch in the piazza

The fitness classes are perfect for me. The OP couldn't keep up with the class they signed up for.

Ok we seem to be having communication issues here. First of all, not being cool doesn’t mean the same thing as basic in the simple, beginner sense. Second, I was just trying to be funny as I consider stretching the fitness equivalent of practicing scales in music, and therefore, not very cool.  Since we can’t seem to manage a meeting of the minds here and your posts have been non responsive to mine in spite of quoting my words, I think we’ll just have to agree to disagree on whatever we seem to be having trouble discussing.

Please post the published description of the specific class that OP paid for and attended.
