Guaranteed cabin for second half of two adjacent cruises

I have booked an independent excursion for my adjacent cruise day while we are in Southampton and others are embarking. I have a guaranteed cabin. My understanding is that I pack up my things and the crew transports my items to the assigned cabin (unless I am lucky enough to stay in the same one). Has anybody had experience with this situation? Thanks as always for your input.

We have done it many times and your understanding is correct. Since you should/will know what room you are going to be in on the second segment before that segment begins, you should have no problem. The two Room Stewards or possibly Butler’s if applicable will coordinate the move and it will be done well before lunch time. Your bags will be waiting for you and your hanging items will be in the closet just like they were in your initial room. You will just have to put things away in drawers. 

The Staff are excellent so have no concerns, at least that is our experience and that of our friends who have done room swaps for B2B’s. We will be doing a B2B next month but will have a lot more shuffling to do as we are swapping ships in different ports so we have to factor in a flight and overnight hotel stay 😇👍🙏🤞

If you have items you wish to safeguard let your cabin know that you wish to move your items to the safe in the second cabin before you leave the ship. Everything else will be moved for you.

We didd this and as soon as the people vacated the cabin we were allowed to go in and place the items in the safe (we were escorted to the suite).  Every thing else we packed in are suitcases, anything hanging they took with the packed suitcases.

We moved from an inside F to a C1 while on our recent B2B on Sirena (which started at Southampton, 8/28/24). You will get written information from them a couple days in advance of the move. Follow the instructions. Make sure to talk with your room steward about the move. He'll talk with the steward of your new cabin. They will move items on hangers to your new room and move your packed luggage to the new room.

 

Passengers had to be out of their cabins by 0800 on disembarkation day. Which meant you could put some valuables in your new cabin before you left for an excursion or just to exit the ship. I put my alcohol in the new room, since it was quite heavy and not in a suitcase. (Our disembarkation day for the 2nd half was in Stockholm.)

The above info is correct.  On our last B2B, our switch was three cabins away and very easy. The steward/Butler took the lead (and actually followed us to the new cabin at our request).  A few euros/dollars are a good thing.  Of note, as we were staying on board, the Grand Dining Room was made available to those staying for the next leg as a private experience not available to those boarding at that time.

Also in our experience the room we were moving to had a priority to be "turned" immediately. This makes things much easier if you are staying on the ship for a bit or simply not getting off that day.

We've done this a couple of times without much issue.  You will need to pack up everything into your suitcases other than your hanging clothing and staff will move these for you.  You must obtain a new key card for the new room from reception.  On one occasion, they told us that we could do this the night before, but we didn't do it until the day of our move.  Overall, it's a very easy process and you needn't worry.
