? about pre-booking excursions

I have always waited to book excursions until on the ship but I want to prebook the White Rail Pass in Alaska. Can anyone tell me if the charge card used to book the excursion on Celebrity's site is billed right away or at the time the excursion is taken? Thanks

They have always billed my card right away. (Which means it's paid for by the time the cruise is over - one less item on my bill!)

Thanks for that info, so if the excrusion is cancelled what happens? Is my Celebrity on board account credited or will the credit card be credited?

Hi Misha1, They will credit your credit card. We were on the Millennium in December 2005 and a shore excursion was cancelled. They notified us onboard by telephone in our cabin, a confirmation letter and then our credit card was credited the entire amount.

Yep, we just had an excursion cancelled on Kauai last month, and they credited it back to our on-board account, instead of to the credit card we booked it on originally.

I read on these somewhere that if you pre book you get 10% off. Does anybody know anything about this?

That wasn't the case on RCI - we paid the same as the people who booked onboard. I would be surprised if Celebrity is different.

No dicount - but some of the excursions are limited in size and might sell out quickly. I think they hold some seats for sale once onboard, but these sometimes sell out quickly too. So the incentive for booking early is first choice.

 

My advice: Book as soon as you know what you want. You can always cancel later.
