Recommended Posts

Hi, I just posted about 20 photos from last weeks sailing:) If you

click onto my signature the new ones are on my webshots.

Now, webshots is saying I have reached my limit:rolleyes:

And besides, I seem to be having a hard time getting the 2nd disc

on to my desk top:( too.

I know MANY MANY of you are PC/COMPUTER experts.

I have about 25 photos or so that I would love to offer up.

Help please.:(

I would even snail mail this 2nd disc to one of ya'll if you could

help me get these posted.

Thanks!!!!:)

I would start by either deleting some of your older albums on Webshots or signing up for a different service like Shutterfly.

If you have ton's of jpgs on your computer and they have not been resized they take up lots of space. Check and see hpw much memory you have left. You may have to backup and delete. You could also try defragmenting your disc if you haven't done that for awhile.

Lois,

The problem you are experiencing is quite common with todays cameras. When digital cameras first came out they shot good quality prints with a quality that did not make them effective for printing photo quality prints. Cameras of today often referred as 6 or 8 megapixal indicate at the top quality each picture would be about 5-6 Megabytes.

I am guessing that the pictures you are shooting are at one of higher quality that makes them larger sized. For web posting you generally want to take your pictures and scale them down in size for posting on the internet. Generally for fast loading and webviewing quality you want 640X480. This will result in pictures that are 150-250 KB.

The free photo posting sites set a limit on the size of each members albums. Often to get larger sized repositories they want you to pay a fee.

If you wished to stay with Webshots you might consider creating a new account as Lovecruising-1 , Lovecruising-2 etc. If they don't allow you to use the same e-mail address you may have to set up additional mailboxes at a place like yahoo.

Good luck - By the way.... Great pictures.

Hi, thanks for the tips:)

Jim, what if I told you the cameras I use are disposables?

I have yet to go out and find a digital camera.

I keep saying I need to to do that but just never got enough

nerve up to do it.

I did see Yahoo's site. Everytime I put the disc in...either

the Walgreen's site comes up or the Kodak. I need to get

them onto something so I can get them onto the YAHOO site.

I am soooooooooo pc challenged:confused:

Sometimes I am just DENSE...is there an icon for that?

I went back on here...and didn't even realize the pictures were actually

on my desktop already. Damn, I am just totally pc challenged. When

I put the disc in the other day..somehow they got transferred to my

desktop and I didn't even know it.

Anyway, if you can see my signature, I now have a Yahoo account

and the other Zenith photos are available!

Thanks again for the help:)

No problem, Lois. I see them just fine! And all of your new clothes---way to go.:D

I am planning to revisit Zenith in Nov. for 14 days. Century and Zenith are my top picks at this time.

Glad to hear and see you had a great time!! Deb C.

Lois,

If we wind up on the Mercury cruise you can try out one of my three digital cameras to see which one you like the best. I have a super small Nikon S5, 5 megapixils, aNikon CoolPix with 5 mega and my new Panasonic 10 X's Optical Zoom, 5 mega. Surely between the three you can get an idea of what you would like. (I'm not bragging here, I just can't find one that does everything I want/COLOR]

Then we can work on the uploading tricks . It's really easy.

Well it is so cool that JJ Abrams is going to be directing the next installment showing a young Kirk and young Spock at Starfleet Academy. With what they are saying about MI:III, this should be one awesome way to jump-start the series.

Oooops you said Tekkie help, not Trekkie help. Nevermind
