Infinithy CC Aft Staterooms

We are looking at one of the aft CC (7212) on the Vista Deck. Any problems or plusses with these aft CC staterooms?

Lots of info can be done by doing a search "aft cabins." You'll see tons of posts, good and bad for these cabins. All the aft cabins on all the Millenium ships are pretty much the same.

We've been in #7208 (next door), and it's a wonderful cabin. I know that #7212 is a handicap cabin...extra wide. As far as plus or minuses...all I see are the pluses! We're in #7206 this Fri. on the Constellation...can't wait!

We also have cabin 7206, but we're on the Infinity this Friday. Really hard cabins to get.

We were in 7212 last Nov. Infinity to Hawaii and Mexico. It is a handicapped cabin and it was wonderful for my husband because he has stroke mobility problems and uses a scooter and wheelchair.

 

We were right above the penthouse deck. It was neat to be so close to the water and wave to the people below us! It was a beautiful view and such a secluded area of the ship.

 

It is a long walk to the elevators and to get off and on the ship, and it helps alot if you have a mobility device (especially if the seas are rough, a mobility aid will help with balance problems). I would highly recommend this cabin if you're handicapped.

We were just in 8176 which is right above 7212 and is also a HC cabin.

There is a bit more motion here than midship and the walk to the elevator was a bit longer but the cabin and balcony made it all worthwhile. The extra large balcony is a great alternative for people with mobility problems because they can relax there without the worry of trying to get around in the rougher waters.

A word of advice for the shower is to put an extra towel on the floor because the water tends to escape over the small lip.

If you need a HC cabin 7212 is a great choice.

When I saw this post I thought that "Infinithy" was a play on words and this was going to be a post complaining of a filthy ship, LOL! Glad to see it isn't. As for aft cabins we have one booked (8172) for the first time on our January 20, 2007 Summit cruise and we are so looking forward to it.

We've been in an aft cabin on Connie recently (7206) and also in a corner FV (7202) on Summit.

 

 

Aft cabin advantages:

---------------------

Huge balconies (can accommodate chairs, loungers, big table, small table... with ease)

180 degrees view to both sides (270 degrees view in corner FV)

View of the wake

Both sunny and shaded balcony

 

 

Aft cabin disadvantages:

------------------------

Somewhat longer walk to stairs/elevators

More vibrations & noise from "engine"

More ship movement

Beds are laid "across" the ship and not "along" the ship = uneasy sleep in rough seas

My pictures of Infinity 8176 aren't as good as Lsimon's Summit 8176. The Infinity cabin is basically the same with slight color (carpet and bedding) differences. It's a great cabin. Enjoy.

Does this really make a big difference? How does it feel different from beds in other cabins?

When the ship is rolling from side waves (like it did) you roll from side to side in a "regular" cabin but in the aft cabins you roll head to toe - feels strange. We had 2 nights like this and it wasn't comfortable but we didn't let it ruin our fun.
