Opinions on Tour guides in Naples

Recommended Posts

I just hear back from these tour guides for a tour of the Amalfi Coast & Positano and they all sound very nice.

Anyone have any information on any of them? Did you use them in the past and were they good? Would you recommend anyone of them?

Also, some of the guides use a car and we are concerned if we would be able so see everything from sitting in a car, or would a minivan be a better choice?

Thanks

We used Benvenuto. The vehicle was a Mercedes MiniVan. The time we spent with them was most enjoyable and we had no trouble seeing anything. There were four of us on the tour. Highly recommended!

We just returned from our Millennium Cruise and used Salvatore and Roberto of Drive Amalfi. We were in new mini vans which afforded us wonderful vistas.

They both are wonderful driver/guides and I would book either one in a heartbeat. We had a fabulous day visiting Sorrento, Amalfi, Postiano and Ravello. They will custom your tour to your specifications. We also enjoyed a wonderful lunch in Pontone.

We went with APTours and would use them again in a heartbeat! They are so professional and personable. We felt like we had made lifelong friends by the end of the day (we still keep in touch via email)! They are very flexible and are able to change plans and throw in a few suggestions one may not have even considered. We used them for our May 11th. cruise. They just got their new website www.aptours.it . Cannot say enough good things about this company (Sarah and Alberto). First class all the way! Happy cruising! Travelbugs

We used Marcello of seesorento 3 years ago and touring with him again this July. He uses a van which makes it easy to see over wall along the coast.

Be sure to take a short tour of Naples to use up any time left on your return.

What is a good price for this tour? what would you say we should see ?

we paid 500 Euro for a mini van with Salavatore of Drive Amalfi

He picked us up at the Naples Port and dropped us off at the same spot.

We were with him all day and we customized our tour to include:

Sorrento, Amalfi, Postiano and Ravello. We stopped for a nice lunch in Pontone. We opted out of doing Pompei, but that is certainly doable.

It really is up to you as to what you want to see and do. That's one of the nice things about a private tour.

With APTours we paid 500 euro for 8 of us (this did'nt include the 75 eu. tip, 100 eu. for the guide in Pompeii, or the 10 eu. for getting into Pompeii). For 8 people it comes to something around 94 euro and some change for everything except lunch).

Our itinerary included... Pompeii, Ravello,Sorrento, Positano, St. Andrews Cathedral, Villa Rufulo, lunch in a beautiful village on the water and of course most of this is all along the Amalfie Coastline drive. We did some damage in Sorrento (beautiful woodwork here- take credit card). Travelbugs

My friends used Francesco for a private tour of Pompeii and the Amalfi Coast last July. They absolutely loved him! He picked them up at the ship, took them to Pompeii, got a private tour guide for them, then came back and picked them up and took them on a tour of the Amalfi Coast. My friend's sister also booked Francesco for 4 days of tours in September because Fran raved so much about Francesco. Here's his website.

Hope this helps.
