What's in your clutch?

I tended to carry my S&S card, my DL, a lipstick and the camera. My camera won't fit in my bag so I just carried it.

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one whose camera won't fit in an evening bag!

Even in the most "fancy" of situations, i need a clutch/small hand bag with me.

I carry at all times:

room card

Altoids

Lipgloss

drivers license

camera

business cards

pen

alka-seltzer (i am a piggy on a cruise :o )

Sadly, I have no DH whose pockets I can commandeer. On a cruise, my clutch usually holds only my ship card, lipstick or lip gloss (I'm notorious for eating it off while eating my dinner), a tissue or two, and a mirror for checking the aforementioned lips.

 

Occasionally I might toss in some money for the casino, but I'm more likely to have a folded copy of the evening's activities so I don't miss any fun activities like the spelling bee (won on 1997 Celebrity cruise) or Cruise Jeopardy (won on 2003 Zuiderdam cruise).

 

In which case, I have my clutch along so that I can put my prize keychain in it!

You put more perfume on as the evening wears on? I don't think I've ever seen anyone carry their perfume with them.

 

Jane, I got in the habit of carrying a small vial of fragrance with me most all the time. On most of my cruises I am working so I never know if or when I can get back to my cabin for a freshen up break. I have also been known to throw a mini toothbrush and paste in there.:)

I lucked out - on my last cruise I wore a silk Carol Peretz ball gown with pockets! Can you believe it? Now that is a practical designer.

My evening bags are Mary Francis, and although they look a good size, I can barely fit a $20 in there with a lipstick!!!! Toothbrush???? Camera???? Perfume????? :D

 

Funny, but very true story, I have a friend who is VERY well-to-do who, on formal nights, is dressed to the hilt but carries a large canvas backpack. Yeah, it ruins the whole look, but that girl can carry the world with her!!!!!

Knowing her, it's quarters for the slots!!!!!:D I really like her a lot, but she is a laid back gal and if you don't like her backpack, stuff it!!! And somehow, she gets away with it.

My evening bag contains a bare minimum: tissue, seapass, casino $, teeny tiny pen, lipstick. DH is in charge of carrying our camera, even though I'm usually the one who takes the pictures.

 

I've even pared down the size of my day purse because I got tired of hauling everything for the 2 men in my life. DH and DS would always give me things to put into my purse and I just got tired of it, so went out and bought a "wallet on a string". It was a drastic move, and took a little while to get used to, but it made a difference in my shoulder/back pain!

I'm not Lola, but I carry mine too. I carried mine because I look young for my age and, in case they didn't believe my age, I didn't want to have to run back to the cabin to get it.

I have a new digital now that's a little smaller, but knowing the size of bag that I carried at night on the ship, it's still not going to fit! And since I won't leave my camera behind, I'll just carry it :)

I agree and forgot to mention that. My evening bags are gorgeous and definitely part of my outfits.

 

I have this little blackish/bronzish metallic suede Rafe bag that I use for evenings on the ship. It is so versatile. It even holds a little bit;) Funny thing is during the day, I never carry a bag on the ship. I think of the bag as an accessory at night that glams up whatever I may be wearing. My dream bag is the Judith Leiber poodle minaudiere. I am "owned" by two grey standard poodles!

Ok ladies, I'm debating taking an evening purse, but can't for the life of me justify carrying one. The only thing I can think of possibly needing is my S&S card and my DH can carry that in his pocket.

I carry a little of this and a little of that. Primary the Sea Pass card, if the ship provides it a small map of the ship, casino money, tissue, a fat pen because it is more comfortable for me to write with, and a small spiral writing pad in case some one needs paper. I use the pad not for notes, I like to write little travel diaries. When I am to old to travel they will be fun to read.

I am owned by one toy red poodle! Poodles DO rule! Last winter, my husband bought me a Judith Leiber minaudiere with 115,000 frequent flyer miles from United's catalog! It wasn't the poodle but it is totally encrusted with pink/burgandy crystals and is a once-in-a-lifetime piece! I have the best of both worlds!

 

We cruise in Dec. and I already know that it will only hold a tissue, a $100. bill, my lipstick and sea pass! What more could I possibly want or need?!!

I had the opportunity to meet Mrs. Leiber in March at an event in NY.

I was hoping that Nordstrom had a Judith Leiber department in Seattle and I could use my points to help buy one. That's how I got my chanel bag a couple of years ago. There is always the outlet store in New York.

We had a blue toy for over 15 years. After he left us, we got a silver standard 10 years ago. What a leap. The blue standard just turned five the silver is 10.

I can't believe this post just keeps going. How great is that?

Well, I stopped by my favorite store this weekend..DSW. You'll never believe it, but they had a purse sale bin, so I bought two evening bags. One is a black satin rossette (sp?) bag with silver loop handles and the other one is a champagn clutch with a rhinestone clasp. The kicker is they were only $5 each. Yeah!

Also, picked up a very cute sun hat on sale for $10 and got a new pair of Keds for all that walking.

 

BTW - I think my dogs are the best. I have an 8-yo Norwegian Elkhound and a 4-mo Boxer.:D
