  1. 1. Do you prefer sunrises or sunsets?

    • I prefer sunrises.
    • I prefer sunsets.
    • I enjoy both equally.

Back from another cruise, and therefore alot more sunsets to add to the thread! Had some beauties this time around, and a new camera to try them with.

The variety was what I was really impressed with this trip - the sunsets went through just about every permutation possible over the 10 days in the southern Caribbean.

Here's the South Florida coast at sunset as we sail away to the east:

Here's an awesome crepuscular ray display on the way to St. Thomas:

And a hazy silhouette sunset in St. Thomas:

But Aruba put on a show:

Well that's just the perfect lead-in for my next shot - OF an airplane, during a sunset, and taken BY the A300!:

(taken off Aruba, btw)

I had the same confusion when Canon introduced the 450D...I always thought of that as a Mercedes diesel sedan my father had. ;)

WOW, amazing photos everyone. Cuizer2, you have probably been asked this before but what kind of camera do you use?
Most of the pictures I have posted were taken with a Canon A620 (7 mega-pixels 4x optixal zoom). Some of the older pictures were taken with a Canon Powershot S50 (5 mega-pixels 3x optixal zoom). Some photos (none from on a cruise ship, but some of a cruise ship and some land based photos - it is too big to be used as a travel camera) were taken with a Nikon Coolpix 8700 (8 mega-pixels 8x optical zoom). Now I use a Canon A590IS for my travel camera (8 mega-pixels, 4x optical zoom & image stabilized).

My travel cameras (the three Canon cameras) all fit in a shirt pocket. The Nikon's big zoom lens prevents it from fitting in a shirt pocket. Also, the A620 and A590 use AA batteries. Finally all my cameras, except my underwater camera have a view finder. I don't like using the LCD screen, especially in bring sunlight.

My underwater camera is a Pentex Optio W30 (7 mega-pixels 3x optical zoom).

I have a bunch more too, but these were two of my favorites (as is the port). I was surprised that the pic of the Glory turned out as well as it did considering i did not have my monopod with me. I had just happened to look up when they turned on the blue lights.
