We had an amazing sunset when we were leaving Melbourne last month. (Has anyone ever noticed how HUGE that 'harbor' is??? We sailed out of it FOREVER so the sun really changed.)

[quote name='GWoodman']Marcyn I do have a question for you since you are in Glaveston, we are looking at a Cruise on the Voyager that ends in your City, for 2010, and wanted to know about the airport. I can't find flights out of there back to Calif, which airport is used. Thank You.

The major airport in Houston is George Bush International (IAH) which is north of the city. There is a smaller regional airport south of the city called Hobby (HOU). These are the closest commercial airports that serve Galveston.

IAH is a hub for Continental.

Cruizer, thank you for the information. I would imagine if using transfer, they bus everyone over. That happened in Seattle, the Airport was 30 min away, however on that trip we were late getting in so many were forgoing their Transfers and running for Cabs. The buses had to wait on everyone before leaving and wouldn't make the airport in time if you were flying out in 2 hours.

Thanks mnbruce! It was taken at Superior Shores a favorite destination of ours even if it 's just a stop for a cold one or to try their Indian Porridge for breakfast. Picture would have been even better had I had the sense to take it about 10 seconds earlier when the flock of ducks came low overhead from behind me on the left, flew in front of the rising sun and around the point. I recall just standing there taking it all in with a hot cup of coffee and not even thinking of lifting the camera up to shoot until the ducks passed beyond the point. Nice memory anyways.
Enjoy your postings too, keep em' coming.

Wonderful photo! It looks like a Carnival ad you would see on a poster or in a magazine.
