I never pay a dime for my drinks in the casino's on board Celebrity. Although I must admit that I try not to go there much. All those people asking for my autograph! It get's old!:D :D

Will never haqppen unless someone else was paying the bill. Anyone ordering a drink in the casino will be asked for their card and you will get a receipt to sign when they return.

Not true. If you are in the casino frequently and have a habit of tipping the dealers the casino manager will always provide you with drinks. If you don't tip you can truly forget about it - it will never happen!!

Celebrity has started a Casino Club, whereby frequent players get a special card and with that card you get free drinks. I just received my "hard card" in the mail last week. One of the priviledges is free drinks in the casino. You have to fill out a form on board, give it to the casino manager and they track your play. You receive the card in the mail within two months.

NCL does have free rum punch the first night for about an hour but it is more punch than rum. On the Sun last April they have ladies night; free drinks for an hour starting at midnight I think. BTW, they were pretty strong and when we missed a port on our North Atlantic crossing we had one hour of free drinks in any lounge. We used the casino cause it wasn't nearly as crowded. Other than that ship casinos are not Vegas or Laughlin or Tunica, don't really care if we win or lose cause they know we are a captive audiance and sometimes don't even smile when they take our money. LOL

When did X start this "Club"? We have been offered "comped" drinks in the casino. We usually become friendly with the black-jack dealers...not for the drinks...but we just like to get to know them!

You did "pay" for your drinks and so does everyone who thinks they are getting "free" drinks this way.
you dont' have to remind us of that: our daughter keeps trying to explain the 3 and 4 free days we get offered in Laughlin every month or so are not free; she too doesn't understand. Well, I guess it's me who needs to rethink things. LOL

Not everybody loses.

We won't play blackjack until after 1:00 A.M. until all the lets try this once people have gone to bed. Truly the problem with gambling on a cruise ship is most people do not know how to play. Another thread another time!!

I gamble occasionaly, and fail to see how another's bad play in blackjack hurts you. Taking one card too many or not taking it ,is just as likely to help as hurt you.It does change the dynamic but the cards ,like the ball on the roulette wheel, have no memory.

Perhaps you get distracted watching them however.

And...in the long run, everyone does lose, except the house.

Sounds something like NCLs Casino at Sea card which started a few years ago. NCLs doesn't offer the drinks though: they do track your play and you get $$s off your cabin account at the end of the cruise (not quite as good as the Vegas cards I am afraid) NMNita

It all depends. Last year on Empress they refuse to play with me single deck BJ , because I was up 4K and they told me I count cards. I still got free drinks while I was playing.

Just move from $5 limit table to $25-$50 limit table and you won't see anyone trying to play for the first time.

The problem with the $25 tables is you are the only one playing usually and that is never any fun especially against a speed demon dealer. That applies both on land and at sea.

I have found out if you have been playing long enough if you ask the floorman/woman/pit boss you can get a drink. You don't get unless you ask however. That also applies on land and at sea (except for drinks).
