Free drinks while gaming?

I never pay a dime for my drinks in the casino's on board Celebrity. Although I must admit that I try not to go there much. All those people asking for my autograph! It get's old!:D :D

Tuggers, may I please have your autograph???? =D

So the Casino onboard is selective about who they comp drinks to? They figure if someone is dropping hudreds on a table, a few drinks wouldn't hurt.

Party on!!

Celebrity has started a Casino Club, whereby frequent players get a special card and with that card you get free drinks. I just received my "hard card" in the mail last week. One of the priviledges is free drinks in the casino. You have to fill out a form on board, give it to the casino manager and they track your play. You receive the card in the mail within two months.

When did they start doing this? You can;t apply for the card before you go, you have to wait until you board the ship? I didn;t know anything about this program, but you can bet I will be signing up on the Century as soon as the casino opens.:D :D :D

:D:D From the land of free drinks in the casino, just one question--how have they built all our new casinos ?? Even playing penny machines, free drinks are offered to you ! They get you, one way or another ! ;);)

Obviously they are not building those casinos and hotel on our winnings, right? Eveyone wins once in awhile, even at sea, but no one wins consistantly more than they lose no matter what they would like us to beleive. I guess the exeception would be the person that happens to walk into a casino for one time only, puts $3 in a 1$ machine and hits big. From the they walk out and never gamble again. If you are out there let us hear from you. LOL

It would be nice if Celebrity would hook up with one of the land based casinos and their players club. It could be beneficial both ways. I know that you can purchase a Royal Caribbean cruise through points earned at the Harrrah's properties.

The problem with the $25 tables is you are the only one playing usually and that is never any fun especially against a speed demon dealer. That applies both on land and at sea.

I have found out if you have been playing long enough if you ask the floorman/woman/pit boss you can get a drink. You don't get unless you ask however. That also applies on land and at sea (except for drinks).

There have been many times when I have been offered a drink in the casino and have never asked for one. I usually say no thanks. They even have little casino coupons that they will give out. If you play and tip they do this.

They also do it if you do not tip.

I thought you said the only way to get one is to ask. I've never asked for a drink in the casino. One of the previous posters made the comment that if you play and tip they will offer you a drink. I really don't want this to be a discussion on tipping, it just happens to be my experience and also that of the other poster.

They always ask me if "I would care for a drink" when I am in the casino, but then when they bring it they always ask for my cruise card! The only time I have received a free drink coupon is after hitting a large jackpot. Before I get a lecture on tipping, yes I do tip.

X started tracking our play on our cruises last year. If you are a frequent gambler and they see you spend a lot of money in the casino, they offer room discounts on subsequent cruises. I know that for our upcoming November cruise on the Connstellation, both my cabin, and the cabin my sister and mom are in will be reduced in price. You can call X and speak to the office-based casino manager and get the details of this program. We were shocked when we were on our Panama Canal cruise this past February, and the on board casino manager told us that when we book our next cruise on X, the one upcoming in November, we would receive a discount on whatever cabin/suite we booked. It's sounding like the comps that Vegas offers for their players clubs. They just started to send out their casino cards this past June.

If a cocktail waiter asks if you would like a drink, you will be asked foir your card and charged. If someone in management offers you a drink it is without charge. No one is giving any lectures on tipping, it's a personal thing.

the difference between the cruise line player cards (which are becoming more popular) and Vegas; the comps aren't nearly as good and it take a long time to get anything even for big spenders. NMNita
