Yes folks ... here they are ... hot off the presses!!

Past guest code is DP1 - Gives you a 4 or 5 catergory upgrade. Will NOT work on all cruises... just try it and see if it works for you.

(I seem to recall a few people saving a lot of moolah from my last past guest code... and wanting to buy me a drink...

well you still have 20 days to do that... :D )

What is this "code" thingy? Does it affect me if I have already paid for my cruise and leave this Sunday? Just wondering......
It's a code for past guests. Did you use a ta or go thru carnival? Wouldn't hurt to call and tell them you heard about promotion/code cdp1, and ask if they used it to help out with the price of your trip. If they didn't maybe you can get an obc or something. This code gives ya upgrades within the category you booked at a past guest rate. We're thinking of changing our imagination cruise to the Liberty 6 day in Feb. We looked up prices with that code tonight, and we can book a 6a that sells on the CCL website for 978.00 pp (cruise + air which would be $1956 for 2), for $848.00pp (which is $1696 for 2) and get upgraded to a 6b! (without the code a 6b costs $1018 pp(cruise + air, which is $2036 for 2). So we'll get a cruise that would have cost $1956 for $1696 with upgrades.(basically we'll get a 6b that would have cost $2036 without codes for $1696 with codes)

Yep, think we're gonna change it:D Give them a a call, and see if they used that to help you guys out or not, and if they did not, tell them you would like to see about it. Also, if you get currents magazine, there's a coupon in the front. Tell them ya forgot to use that. Worth a try.:)

Nah....I don't think I'm even gonna worry about it. From what I read here on the boards TA's aren't real eager about trying to apply upgrades, discounts, or OBC after you've paid. But I have learned that my next cruise I'm going to book with Carnival directly. I'm from a small town. I know the owner and most of the staff in the TA's office. Makes it akward to call and whine. But next time!!! *LOL*

Lol, ok, you guys have a great time, and drink a rumrunner for me. I think we are doing the right thing by changing our trip. I've always wanted to go on the Liberty, but with her "normal itenerary" we don't have enough vacation time built up to go. The 6 day sounds like a great opportunity to get to sail on her:D And the savings are great too;) More money for the casino:p

I read your post this morning, called Carnival immediately, and got almost $500 knock of the price of our May 2007 cruise on The Miracle!! $240 PP! That right there will pay for most of our airfare.

Thank You SO much for the info!!!

:D We'd be happy to buy you a couple of drinks! :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Unforunately, I booked with Carnival this last time just for OBCs and price drops. And let me tell you it was like pulling teeth, big teeth. So dont think just cause you booked directly, that'll be any easier. I never could get it for my parents. I had to talk to over 6 people each time and hold for up to 30 minutes.

Can this code be entered on the Carnival website under promotional code? If so, I can't get it to work.

Yes, it does work on the website however, it doesn't work on all sailings, for instance it will not work on holiday sailings such as New Year's. Also, I believe your past guest number has to be entered if you are not signed in (otherwise it will be there already). If it is not valid for your sailing, you will get a message "invalid promo code" in red.

Hope this helps :)

We booked through a travel agent and received upgrades on all three rooms for the Liberty December 31 06 cruise. Our agent had to deal with the carnival people who had to talk to his manager but we were able to book int he 6a and were upgraded to the Panerama deck which we felt would be too noisy and settled on the 6e for the same price. We booked about 3 weeks ago and the Carnival agent said that the past guest discounts were closed on that ship. Doesn't hurt to ask.:D

I am booked (9A) and paid for in full on the Nov 5th sailing on the PRIDE. I AM a past guest, but went to my booking on-line (modify booking) just to see what PROMO code was listed for my trip. It was listed as promo code: PNS. I called Carnival and (ignorantly) explained that I thought my booking had been incorrectly coded - because my friend had also booked at the same time and was also a past guest - but her booking was coded as a CDP1. The girl at Carnival was extremely rude when I asked her to double check to see if I had gotten the correct pricing for my trip. It WAS LIKE PULLING "BIG" TEETH to even get her to check further into it. I was on hold for over 10 minutes, then she came back only to tell me somewhat smugly "NOPE, that's the best we can do. You were coded at the past guest price, but the sale price was better, so that's what you got. If you want we can code it back to the past guest price and you can pay more, but do you really want that?" Her attitude throughout the entire conversation was nothing short of rude. She went as far to suggest that I might want to try get someone else's booking number AND pin number and call back to compare prices! OUTRAGEOUS! I have two (9A) rooms booked with two people in each room and paid $1299.00pp.

I am also a CVC member but did not use my points for this booking (booked straight through CCL).

Can anyone tell me if I got a good price or did I get screwed (in a bad way)? ....... I can handle the truth, your input is appreciated!:)

I just got off the phone with my PVP and we were able to go from a balcony guarantee to an extended balcony on the Verandah Deck on the Legend for our April 1, 2007 cruise. My PVP also told me that the second part of this promotion is you can take 2 other people with you and they can book the same exact cabin type for the same price you are paying. He did say that this portion of the promotion would expire soon, but did not say when. So, if you are interested, you may want to call your PVP or TA right away before it expires.

Thanks for the info! I called our PVP just a few minutes ago about this new Past Guest code and she checked it out and found it our Retired Military discount was better by 150.00 per person. Just a reminder for retired military, check all the codes as our PVP said sometimes the Past Guest is better then the military but as a rule of thumb, retired military is better about 95% of the time.

If you have a good TA they will. I(the TA) am always looking to lower someone's price any way I can because I need the return business. Just find a good TA with ethics and they will help you in any way.

I spoke to my PVP today about the Military Friends & Family & as some people said here on these boards it only covers sailings from now thru 3/31/07 but he expects another one to open up in the near future to cover the sailing I am booked on for May 2007. I already have the military discount for DH & me, we are waiting on the discount for my DD, her finance & DS with his family. We did however at his suggestion already book the cruise for them & when it becomes avail. he will then discount their bookings. The reason for this was to insure their being able to get the discount as only so many bookings per cruise are allowed for these discounts. As he said we had nothing to loose because if it did not become avail. before the penality stage they could always cancel & get 100% of their deposit back if they do not want to pay full price. And possibly if it doesn't come up another sale might that could save them money.

Also as for the past guest code ( on our DEC 06 cruise ) that must have been effect for awhile as he had given us a discount a couple of weeks ago without us even asking. We called to make final payment & he told us about the discount, we had already booked this cruise on one of the Carnival one day sales with a 4 category upgrade. So now we are paying $322 pp total for 5 day cruise on Fantasy out of NOLA in cat.4D assigned cabins. We are midship on the Empress deck over the dinning room seems like a good price & location to me

Just had our TA contact Carnival to see if she could get us a reduced rate for our April 22/07 Miracle (now Legend) cruise, using the Past guest code...

We didn't want to loose our 8E cabin for the 8I upgrade, but did notice our cabin was going for a $100 pp less then our original quoted price...

The TA contacted Carnival, explained I was not interested in the upgrade but would like a price adjustement.

The TA just contacted me to let me know she had no problems with Carnival (using the past guest deal) and when everything was said and done she saved us over $360 USD :p

Whooo whoo!
