Congrats on getting the Marriott! You should be able to get two double beds, but they always cover themselves since it is not guaranteed. You have a request in and as long as you check-in early in the day, you should be fine. Priceline is the one that takes the payment and then passes it along to the hotel, so if something looks wrong, then I would take it up with priceline. They charge you full in advance so you can always check with your CC company to see if it is correct and you have been charged in full.

I don't believe they do rollaways anymore. A lot of hotels have been getting rid of them lately and I know Marriott Residence Inns have. There are often fire regulations that make rollaways a problem.

Thanks Toonjie, our plane doesn't land until 9.45pm so an early check-in won't be possible. If I understand correctly they charge for third adults over the age of 18? I don't know what we're going to do if we arrive and can't get two double beds, we also have a child under 18 making 4 of us in total. I was pretty sure with Hotwire I would get the Intercontinental and their charges for a third adult are quite steep in comparison to the Marriott, and you gave the Marriott a big thumbs up so I am very happy.

I previously emailed Hotwire to see if their charges included a third adult and they said no all they guaranteed was a room to accommodate the total number of guests.

I did email Priceline and they said my card has been charged in full and they pay the hotel. I just thought it strange that when I went into the hotel confirmation on the Marriott website the booking confirmation credit card showed a credit card ending in a card number I had not supplied, so I wondered could this belong to Priceline who pay the hotel on your behalf after taking payment from you?

To the person asking about areas without Resorts in San Juan I am by no means an expert in fact this is the first time I have bid on Priceline. When I went into Priceline I clicked the Resorts button refreshed the hotels and it showed 8 for my dates, 5 in San Juan, 2 in Rio Grande-Humacao and 1 in Ponce from this I rebid adding; Aguadilla, Cabo Rojo, Dorado and Mayaguez knowing there were no Resorts in those areas and I got exactly what I wanted. :D Just have to sort the bed arrangements out now.

Thanks again Toonjie, Lknight and everyone else who has kindly given their expert knowledge and experiences. Greatly appreciated.:D

Katsekis, are you Greek? Your name sounds it.

Thanks for the tips on bidding for the Intercontinental Hotel. Being that we got the Caribe Hilton for the 25th, I am thinking of maybe trying for the Intercontinental for that same weekend you got and just paying more than we likely would for the Caribe just to experience something different rather than check into the same hotel we were staying in just a week prior.

Hey Greek Gal, Yes, my husband is Greek!

I figured I would get the Caribe Hilton when I started bidding. It seemed like that was the resort that everybody was getting. I started bidding at $80 and did every combination I could for 2 days until I got to $111 and got the Intercontinental. I was really surprised, but happy. I still have to bid for April 25.

We got the Marriott San Juan Stellaris for $110/night for June 11-13/10. I started bidding at $70 (yeah, right - I know) and added other areas of Puerto Rico with no resorts and increased bidding until $110 was accepted. Excited!

So Mrs. Katesakis, are you staying at the Intercontinental for April 16-18? That is when we will be staying there, so if you are, maybe we could arrange to meet there for a drink before the cruise starts (have no idea of our schedule really yet, but we're thinking of renting a car for Saturday).

We will be at the Intercontinental April 16 ~ 18. Our flight arrives at 10 pm on Friday night. We are thinking about going into town Sat. morning and taking the ferry over to do the tour at the Bacardi Rum factory. Then back into Old San Juan for some siteseeing. I'm sure we can arrange to meet sometime Sat. night or Sun. morning. Are you sailing on the Caribbean Princess?

I am hoping to get a room on Hotwire for the Sheraton Old San Juan for later this year 2 nights pre-cruise. I had it down, that it was 3 star, with the non-beach amenities and tennis nearby, but now I don't see that unless I am putting in 2 adults and 2 kids (only will be 2 adults). Has anyone had this as well? I def want to stay in Old San Juan. Would there be a problem when I got there and asked for a king bed, when the reservation says there are 4 people?

We got the Rio Mar Wyndham Resort for $91 per night for May 20-23, 2010 on priceline.com.

I started bidding at $85 (OSJ with resorts no luck) and then added Rio Grande-Fajardo, still no luck, untill I reached $91 and the bidding was accepted. So excited but we have to rent a car because Rio Mar Resort is 45 mins away from OSJ

I just got this on Hotwire for $89 per night for a July 3 pre-cruise stay. We are getting in late and didn't have the time to enjoy a full resort. This is just across the street from our ship. Earlier in the day when I first looked it was $98. but dropped a few hours later so I grabbed it. It was the 3 star etc. Don't know why you are having problems with just two adults. Could be a Hotwire system error.

So, we needed a room for 1 night on 11/06 and got the Marriott Resort & Stellaris Casino after bidding $110. (I began really low and added the non-resort locations and upped $5 each bid and got nothing until I included 4 star). Total with taxes and $5 insurance came to $135.xx. Not bad. I hope I can find more information on this resort within the forum, like transportation, dining options, etc.

Thanks for all the posts and info within

YES $78 woo hoo

I booked an "Undercover" hotel on lastminutetravel.com. We got the Wyndham Rio Mar Resort and Spa for $78!!! Woo Hoo.

Now, the catch is this is about 15 minute drive from the airport. We decided to rent a car with Enterprise for $25 and the plus is we will be able to drive around the city and won't have to worry about cab fares.

We'll return the rental to the Airport Sunday morning and get a cab to the port.

I am super psyched about getting the hotel for $78, we definitely could not have afforded full price at the Wyndham.

Reading through the posts would be a lot more informative if everyone followed the same format.
