Hello All,

I'm sorry if this question has been asked a million times before. I have never used Hotwire or Priceline before and I can not find the answer in this thread.

I would like to bid on Priceline on a hotel in Old San Juan. I understand about bidding "resort", but I am afraid that it will not be in Old town. Is there something I am not seeing? I would appreciate all help.

The area you bid is San Juan. This area includes Isla Verde (by the airport), Condado, Old San Juan and areas in between. There is no gaurantee that you would get OSJ. If you look at betterbidding.com, it will give you an idea on the hotels that have been 'won' for the San Juan area.

I went ahead and booked on Hotwire and got the Sheraton OSJ for $99 (plus tax) on 12/10. Happy with that as we plan to explore the old San Juan area the day before our cruise.

For those interested, this is the list of amenities

3-1/2 stars

This hotel features the following amenities:

Casino

Fitness Center

Pool(s)Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-speed Internet Access

Tennis Nearby

How lucky. I've been bidding off and on for over a month for January 15, 2011 and can't get anything.

I forgot to put in my orginal post that this was a 3 star hotel. Have you been bidding for 3 star and above?

We stayed here last jan. best cup of coffee in the little cafe i have had, tried duplicating it at home but not the same. everybody at the desk is super friendly and helpful. we bid last year on priceline and ended up paying 125 and no marriott points. when i called to ask them a question they offered me a rate of 95. i wasn't to happy with priceline at that point.

Hi Nancy, where is that Hampton? Lou has a couple of free nights, if we can use it there. sometimes there for a lower category. if not i may call them directly and see if they can do any better.

Try bidding San Juan 3.5 star - we got the Marriott Mirmar for 2/5 for $99 after bidding Resort and 4 star for 2 moths!

I've been bidding for a 3 1/2 star. There is a festival in OSJ that weekend. Don't know if that's the problem or what. Last year, on Friday, January 8th, we got the Sheration OSJ (3 1/2 star) for $95. This was the weekend before the festival.
