T&J Posted October 1, 2006 Author #477 Share Posted October 1, 2006 Hi Tony,You are certainly getting further away from us now.Seychelles is 8 hours behind us and today we went onto daylight saving so you are now 9 hours behind. Trust you enjoy your afternoon in Victoria.Shame its a Sunday....the shops will be closed I suppose.Never mind its a pleasant walk into town or will you take a cab over the hill to the beach? Hello David!...I am going in after a quick lunch and will walk to town as it is only 1.2 miles and then after to the beach as well....The weather is gorgeous here today and your right most shops will be closed because it is Sunday!:(Tony

T&J Posted October 1, 2006 Author #480 Share Posted October 1, 2006 Just got back from an excellent afternoon in Mahe, Seychelles....the island is beauifull and lush with vegetation and rain forests. We hired a driver from the pier for $20.00 an hour USD and took us up the peak, to Vallmont and Port Victoria and to the Beach and waited for us.Had a great couple of expensive drinks by the beach but very good...Mango Tango with cointreau, Tequila and fresh mango blended...very potent! The weather was gorgeous today on the island and it just started to have some light rain showers as we were being driven back to the ship....It was very hot today here in the Seychelles and the water was very warm with a lot of people on the beach....Going to the gym in about 30 minutes time and then get ready for dinner later. We set sail for Mauritius at 7:00pm tonight and have two days at sea again.More to follow from the magnificent Pacific Princess here in Paradise in the Seychelles.....Tony
Carolyn R Posted October 1, 2006 #481 Share Posted October 1, 2006 Tony, What are your plans when you arrive in Capetown? Are you flying straight home or doing a post cruise stay. I was hoping you might get to do a tour to the wine country, the "Goats do Roam" winery in particular.
arlenemilt Posted October 1, 2006 #482 Share Posted October 1, 2006 I am happy to hear that you spent $4.00 bucks on me! Glad too hear your having a good time...check in again once your home this week. Tony    OK. We're home. Food was good, entertainment was good, weather was perfect. Sea like glass. And, FYI, I did not spend $4.00 on you. It was only $3.00. :D Arlene

arlenemilt Posted October 1, 2006 #484 Share Posted October 1, 2006 Checking out the coffee? :) ;) :) David.......you got that one right. :D Actually, the coffee on Carnival is slightly more palatable than Princess. Maybe they used a teaspoon less syrup. I'm still brewing my own, although my "not so wonderful" cabin steward made me hide the pot every day. I hate all that food in my gut so late at night, since we don't stay up 'til the wee hours and get up early to do the gym. Besides, Ro and Murray have to be considered too, and they don't like to eat late either. Spoke to Ro a few minutes ago and told her you might change. Can you hear/see her tears? :( Arlene
TexasMom2 Posted October 1, 2006 #496 Share Posted October 1, 2006 Tony, here is a link posted by another CC member - some lines are considering rating the players and providing comps, like free drinks and free cruises or discounts. http://www.cruise-casinos.com/ On another note, we all know you wear a tux on formal night, but what are you currently seeing on the PP? You mentioned fewer formal dressers on the Grand and your other PP cruise. Are you seeing the same on your current cruise?
