mr. godfredo Posted November 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 13, 2006 We are going to the Westerdam on 11/19/2006 and my wife was wondering if they have nickel and/or penny machines in the casino. She loves those video type games! Also, what about Texas Hold Em? Do they have any poker tables or rooms?
noblepa Posted November 13, 2006 #2 Share Posted November 13, 2006 When we were on the Oosterdam last April, there were a fair number of nickel slots and a small number of penny slots. I assume that the Westerdam is the same. I believe that the video poker games were all $0.25 or larger bets, but I didn't play them much, so I could be wrong. I can't answer about the poker tables. There is, of course, a roulette table and several blackjack tables. The lowest blackjack hand I could find was $5. Have a good trip and good luck in the casino. Darspurs Posted November 13, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 13, 2006 There is a poker table in the back part of the Sports Bar. On sea days they were running one table Holdem tournements I think for $30 entry. There were also cash games although the timing of these did not really suit me (7.30pm). The only time I played a cash game was the day we suddenly had an additional sea day because the weather was too poor to tender to HMC and the game went on most of the day. Sprocket Posted November 14, 2006 #5 Share Posted November 14, 2006 Some of the slots are multi-denomination, there were a few that were either penny, 2 cent or nickel. The most popular penny slots were in a bank of I think 8 machines, and were progessive. Lots of fun, but the only way to win the progessives was to bet the maximum bet of $1. There was usually a wait for these machines. The Texas Hold'em was very popular and always drew of crowd. Bev
seniormiss Posted November 14, 2006 #6 Share Posted November 14, 2006 I posted this yesterday and I think it got lost. I am curious about the gambling age on the Oosterdam, I am thinking of taking my grandaughter who is 18 on a Mexican cruise next year. There are a few Indian casinos in California where a 18 year old can gamble. Thanks

frbob Posted November 17, 2006 #12 Share Posted November 17, 2006 Failed to mention...Texas Hold-Em was available on the Westerdam. They offered both $2 - $4 cash games and one table (10 players) tournaments (on sea days) with $30 buy-in. The tournaments paid $200 to the winner and $50 for second place. The house rake was $50. Hope this helps.
