We got one for DH and me on Panama Trip, October this year. They would be mere pennies for HAL --our travel agency gets much nicer ones for about $3.00 each.

Was the lady always carrying a doll dressed in various costumes throughout the cruise, including a doll outfit that resembled the HAL dining room steward uniform? We had such a lady on our Maasdam cruise in August, 2005 and she wore a vest made from HAL tote bags. We thought she was a little nutty!:)

Just back from a b2b on the Zaandam. We received one tote per cabin for each leg of the cruise.

When we were having cocktails with an officer we asked and were told that it is now one bag per last name in the cabin.

Yup.. she was the one.. a little stuck on herself.. was on Westerdam on our 10/15 sailing.. as for nutty? Well I'll have to cut her some slack, as we're the ones who bring rubber chickens and screaming, flying monkeys...*L*

On the Ryndam (debarked last week) we received one tote (outside cabin) for the two of us.. DH used HAL's Tote & I used one I had packed..Can't remember how many they gave us on the Prinsendam in April..

Dan, I remember her well! She would walk with the doll stuck out in front of her like a trophy! It had uniforms of all the departments on the ship.

 

Mike, I have seen several couples on various cruises with the vests made from the totes.......definitely over the top!.........jean:cool:

No one has mentioned the baseball caps made from the totes and pocketbooks. I've even seen eyeglass cases and book covers. Creative people....good for them.

I think 1 per cabin/last name is reasonable right now.

 

Like Randy, I have a ton of the bags and doc holders. Why add more to the recycling box?

Got one tote from Noordam last month. But, also packed a lightweight larger freebie tote from Celebrity that we received last year. Used that one cause it was bigger. A little tacky for Hal, but it was convenient none the less.
