CrusinAgain Posted November 30, 2006 #1 Share Posted November 30, 2006 What is Princess policy on leaving you behind if you are on their shore excursion. They are offering a shore excursion we want to take but it returns the same time as the last tender leaves. I'm telling myself they wouldn't leave us behind nor would they offer it if it is a problem but that is just assuming. Anyone know? Thanks! Pam in CA Posted November 30, 2006 #3 Share Posted November 30, 2006 If you're on a Princess excursion, the ship will wait. Make sure you head directly from the drop-off to the tender. Pass by all the vendors, do not stop to shop, get a drink or do anything. (There was a thread months ago by someone who dawdled after being dropped off and didn't make the last tender. They blamed Princess for not waiting for them since they felt they were "protected" as they were on a Princess excursion.)
Colo Cruiser Posted November 30, 2006 #4 Share Posted November 30, 2006 They will wait if it is a ship tour. :)
CrusinAgain Posted November 30, 2006 Author #5 Share Posted November 30, 2006 Yes it is a Princess excursion and a tender port and the ship leaves at 2:00 with last tender at 1:30 which is the time the excursion says it comes back.

Just make sure you go directly from the drop-off to the tender. It's unlikely there will be long lines -- they'll probably have a tender waiting for you. CrusinAgain Posted November 30, 2006 Author #8 Share Posted November 30, 2006 Thanks Pam and everyone who responded. :) For a later excursion like this, does this generally mean we stay on the ship or do you normally get off and meet somewhere at the dock area. Just wondering since our time is so limited leaving so early if we have any time to pick up a souvenir.

dog Posted December 1, 2006 #10 Share Posted December 1, 2006 Your excursion ticket through Princess will tell you where and when to meet on the ship. Go to the excursion desk and ask about meeting at the tender dock. Usually they are holding up signs with the excursion name on them at the tender dock. And those that meet on the ship get a sticker to identify what excursion they are on. J.
Cruisin' Chick Posted December 1, 2006 #11 Share Posted December 1, 2006 Don't be surprised if the time for your excursion changes a little bit. BTW, we had the situation on our Alaskan cruise when we had a late afternoon excursion booked thru Princess. The departure time was moved up by an hour which made our excursion even tighter. On top of that, the weather conditions made our return delayed. We got back to the Skagway pier late but the ship was held for our group. We were told that our names were announced but of course none of us could hear it in the van!

Thanks for everyone's advice and comments. It really helps. :)
Rare Coral Posted December 1, 2006 #13 Share Posted December 1, 2006 As others have stated - if you are on a Princess excursion, the ship will wait for you. Just make sure you don't wander off from the excursion....Stay with the group. I did an excursion in St. Thomas and Ketchikan and in both of those places, we were 30 minutes late getting back. The ship sailed late because they were waiting for us. Enjoy your cruise.
