CRUISE LINE Single Supplement Bargains -- Post Here

I booked an O/V on the NCL Gem transatlantic. Started to get a balcony, then remembered on the last two transatlantics never really used the balcony, and could use the extra money for the casino. This will be my first time traveling as a solo, and am hoping for a very good experience.

Hey heydallas,

Thanks for posting this offer - it is still available with no single supplement. I booked a BB Balcony Cabin today, seems all balcony cabins are the same rate. Using an online agency, I was able to get free Travel Insurance. This will be my 3rd TransAtlantic and second time in Funchal. Thanks again for the heads up on this offer.

Jack - San Francisco

Glad to help. How were previous visits to Funchal? Also, if you haven't yet made it over to the roll call for this cruise, be sure to check it out...it is a very active board with lots of us meeting up for dinners and things.

  • 2 weeks later...

Check out the single rates on Holland America's Oosterdam, January 12, 2008, to Mexico. Several of the online sites are offering extras. I found a great offer with *******************. Can I say that? ;) . $810.59 all in, Outside Guarantee.

Happy Sailing

i am looking to book a Mexico cruise, on a line i havent tried yet. not sure i can wait until january...lol.

i was booked on a balcony with HAL oosterdam once for only $924. Believe it or not i cancelled it because i was nervous about trying HAL.

can you have any fun on that ship and are people friendly. are there many activities to join in?

Sounds like a great deal - are you doing it? I see from your signature that, like me, you are taking the 12/3 Gem cruise. I don't see myself getting back and taking another trip a few weeks later...but good for you if you are!

There appear to be lots of Celebrity deals about just now. I reserved the last cabin last week on Infinity 11/11/07 Ft Lauderdale to Valpraiso (Santiago) for $1000 during ******* one-day-sale. The advertised rate was $1661 per couple so I think that I have done really well. Celebrity is not a line that i ever thought that I'd be able to sail on as as a solo. Had there been more cabins available of course I'd have been straight on here to report!

To Infinity - and beyond :D

Howdy all! 50.gif

Just a friendly 05.gif reminder of Laura's post toward the top of this thread:

We're fine with you folks using this thread to share info you may find on solo cruising bargains -- as long as those bargains are offered by the CRUISE LINES and not by a travel agency or GROUP CRUISE.

Thanks,

Laura

Thanking you all in advance for your understanding and wishing everyone 080402gudl_prv.gif in your quest for solo cruising bargains!!

Just for clarification purposes: What about things found as a direct link from CC's main home page? I'm not referring to the ads per se, but things directly mentioned under the "cruise bargains" link on the main page (not what one might find with further clicks away).

Per Laura:

To me, an unpaid volunteer down here in Texas, this would include ALL travel agencies, even those with paid ads anywhere on Cruise Critic or appearing in Cruise Bargains. However, for further clarification, I suggest you contact Laura directly at community@cruisecritic.com to make sure.

Celebrity has a great rate for Mercury 12 day 3-16-08 sailing. I just got SINGLE occupancy, inside cabin midship, for $1337 (senior rate, including taxes; non-senior is $300 more), PLUS $200 OBC. If you deduct the OBC, that's less than $100 a day ... on Celebrity!

The sailing is for 12 days, from Honolulu to Ensenada, Mexico. You get 7 days in Hawaii, with overnites in Honolulu, Lahaina, and Kona, plus a day in Hilo; then 5 days at sea to Ensenada. Pretty cool itinerary at a great price.

There's no time in Kaua'i, but I think I might fly into Kaua'i a day or two early, and then on to Honolulu to meet the ship.

Check it out! :)

I just booked two cruises on RCCL b2b for a total of $890 total cost with a $50 OBC.

I was checking into the price of a 7 night cruise on RCCL in Feb 08 but the price was prohibitive for me. Therefore, I looked into the shorter cruises. To make a long story short, I ended up with 4 nights on RCCL Navigator of the Seas out of Ft. Lauderdale and the day we return, I hope in a cab or shuttle and scoot over to Port of Miami to catch RCCL Majesty of the seas. Hence, I combined two short cruises into one long adventure.

I will visit: Cozumel, Coco Cay, Key West and Nassau. I will enjoy 2 sea days and get to experience RCCL on both a megaship (Navigator) and one of their smaller ships that has recently undergone major renovations (Majesty).

As I am usually a Carnival cruiser, I am excited to be giving RCCL a whirl. The going rate for a 7 night RCCL in Feb 08 for a solo, bottom category is $1336 - $1999. Hence, my $890 steal is worth the $30 or so dollars it will cost me to get from Port Carnaveral to Port of Miami. In fact, if I can figure out a way, I want to stop at a laundromat on the way to Port of Miami and do a quick load of clothes. Hmmmmm, has possibilities.

Also since Debarkation is early in the morning and embarkation is at around 11:30 or so, even the day I switch ships will not be wasted because I will get to the Majesty early and get to walk around and acclimate myself to the ship.

This may not be for everyone but for me, this is heaven.

Cruiser - Please be aware that Port Canaveral is 3 1/2 HOURS (via FL turnpike) away from Port of Miami. It will not be a $30 shuttle/taxi ride. Please check into your travel plans before final payment is due!!! You are basically going from Orlando to Miami

Roz,

I found an excellent solo price for the Oosterdam, Feb. 9, 2008. It's the same sailing as the Yum-Yums. $764 total with $25 obc, and champagne. For an N inside. I took the guarantee. Great solo price for HAL. Any chance you may join us?
