cb at sea Posted January 9, 2007 #3 Share Posted January 9, 2007 If your preferencs is Italian, the do Portofinos. Chops is a "meat and potato" style restaurant--super tender cuts of steak--that's what my hubby prefers. You really can't go wrong with either! katiel53 Posted January 9, 2007 #6 Share Posted January 9, 2007 I'd vote for Portofino. I think the food is wonderful and so is the service. If you want steak, you can still get it at Portofino. It's tender and delicious. I love the appetizers and salads etc. I love the pasta with mushrooms and mascarpone sauce. It is to die for. That could be my whole dinner. The salad with pear and gorgonzola cheese is another of my favorites. Chops serves the side orders family style. I like having everything on my plate served to me. I don't like to have to put my own potatoes and veggies on my plate. I know I'm weird lol. I serve myself and husband every night, so on vacation I like being served. When we go on Mariner again, we will go to both restaurants, but if we could only do one, it would be Portofino. Enjoy your choice. katie
