I've never heard of a bad lobster place in the area.

We walked from the ship to downtown Halifax. Most of the restaurants were not open for lunch. So don't know how far you will have to go to get a lobster lunch.

If you're looking for inexpensive and don't want to pay for ambience and waiter service, there's a shopping complex right on the boardwalk not far from the ship - I can't remember the name, but it's past where the tall ships are docked - and it has a "food court". One of the places in there has whole lobster dinners - we got two dinners for less than $25 Canadian. We carried them out to the outside eating area right on the dock. It was nice and the food was good.

Kathy - that sounds like Salty's. Good food, not expensive - we sat outside for lunch - it's down at the Waterfront where the Heritage stores are.

Rick - am I right? It's been a few years since I have been in Halifax. There's a fancier restaurant upstairs, I believe.

No, that's not Salty's, it's called the Harbour Market, but it is beside Salty's. And yes, it's got great food and it's wonderful to sit outside and eat.
