Rick1965 Posted June 18, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 18, 2004 wdblake, not a seafood lover myself, but here's a link that may help you. http://www.where.ca/halifax/subcategory_guide.cfm?subtitle_id=15 I've never heard of a bad lobster place in the area. Krazy Kruizers Posted June 19, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 19, 2004 Halifax We walked from the ship to downtown Halifax. Most of the restaurants were not open for lunch. So don't know how far you will have to go to get a lobster lunch. Host Caroline Posted June 21, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2004 Lobster roll, lobster salad and seafood chowder at Murphy's on the Water (right on waterfront) were pretty awesome IMHO
kathy7558 Posted June 25, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 25, 2004 If you're looking for inexpensive and don't want to pay for ambience and waiter service, there's a shopping complex right on the boardwalk not far from the ship - I can't remember the name, but it's past where the tall ships are docked - and it has a "food court". One of the places in there has whole lobster dinners - we got two dinners for less than $25 Canadian. We carried them out to the outside eating area right on the dock. It was nice and the food was good.
Esme Posted June 28, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 28, 2004 Kathy - that sounds like Salty's. Good food, not expensive - we sat outside for lunch - it's down at the Waterfront where the Heritage stores are. Rick - am I right? It's been a few years since I have been in Halifax. There's a fancier restaurant upstairs, I believe.
Mask Posted July 6, 2004 #7 Share Posted July 6, 2004 No, that's not Salty's, it's called the Harbour Market, but it is beside Salty's. And yes, it's got great food and it's wonderful to sit outside and eat. Deb

annemarie Posted August 10, 2004 #9 Share Posted August 10, 2004 The price in US$ would probably be about $18 to $19 for the dinner. But you have to consider the dollars values change daily.

Merion_Mom Posted August 18, 2004 #12 Share Posted August 18, 2004 We enjoyed a very friendly and delicious lobster lunch at Little Fish on Argyle St., away from the "tourist-y" areas, but an easy stroll. Carol
