Which inside cabins on the 4th deck are new? Maybe I'll switch.

not sure if you are aware, but any cabins on deck 4 will be right under the public areas of deck 5..........casino,Boleros,etc..........Might get noisy late at night esp of you book one of the new cabins.........

To quote Shakespeare, this thread is "Much Ado About Nothing."

Other than a difference in shower curtains and the cabinet of television sets, there is absolutely no difference between the old and new

Having been on the Enchantment last May (Cabin 8557 original) and having the chance to look inside and check out the "new section" cabins, you are absolutely correct, Yogimax.

We will be on the Enchantment next week--yippee! I was able to upgrade from outside to a balcony and got 8582, which is the end one in the new section. I have an old RCCL book and was able compare and find the new cabins on the deck plans. Anyway, can anyone tell me what is in the blank space next to my cabin? I sure hope it's not the ice machines or something else noisy. Anyone know?

We sailed on Enchantment in Jan./06 and had one of the new rooms 8584 (balcony). It was a nice room, probably one of the biggest balcony cabins we have ever had. However, we had a huge problem with wind whistling and howling loudly around our stateroom door when the ship was moving. I think it may have had to do with which service doors were open and shut as one morning I heard the sound of a heavy door closing and the whistling went away - but only for about 10 mins. It was loud enough to keep us awake at night, even my husband who only has hearing in one ear. We spoke to our room steward about it and he had someone from maintenance come up. He thought it was because we didn't have our balcony door closed properly, but it turned out we did. They were never able to find the cause. We wrote to RCCL about it after we got home and they were very obliging about it - they sent us coupons for money off of our next cruise.

I couldn't figure out what all the hoo-rah was about...

We were on Enchantment in October 2005, just a few months after the stretch. Our steward let us take a look at one of the "new rooms"... I couldn't see any difference, except things looked newer. The entire ship should have the new bedding, so I can't see what is the big deal.

Oh well, it makes for a nice long thread...

I guess it's the "exept things looked newer" part! If I'm paying X amount for my cabin and there is one next door for the same price where "things look newer", then I want the newer one! But having said that, if it's vacation in an original room or stay at home and work..........Well I'm not insane enough to go to work!!!!!!:) :D

I agree. I'll take "things looked newer" any day, given the choice. But the thing that clinches it for me is the shower door. I loathe those stupid curtains that hug you like some slimy, wet groper.

MONTEKAT: That is the cabin we will be in on our October 22 sailing!!!!From what I understand that is a new cabin - all of the D1's on deck 8 are new. Have a great time and let me know what you think and if it is in fact a new cabin!!!

It was a great balcony cabin location-wise, but directly under the hot tub area. It was rather noisy, you could hear chairs being dragged across the deck and freq. people were running back and forth. It was a new cabin, in fact the last one of the new section. There was wind whistling through the ceiling on our return from Cozumel as it was quite windy outside. The shower enclosure was nice, not the plastic curtain.

Hope you have a great cruise!

Julielbs00: I just saw this thread continued. Room 7570 & 7572 and ver ynice rooms. The pullman bed is up in the ceiling - you won't even know it's there. It looks like a ceiling panel. If you didn't know about it, you wouldn't even be able to tell. Yes, the room has a sofa. The balconies attach, but we asked to have the partition removed between them and the request was denied. Oh well, you can talk across them if you lean a little bit. HA! Elevators weren't too far. You could walk either left or right and be at one pretty quickly. We used the stairs alot. Noise - didn't notice any unusual noises. You will be very happy with your room selection! We were! I hope you enjoy your cruise!!

I am going to be in 8081 in April. I think its new but can anyone confirm???

You can tell the new section on Deck 8 the easiest because they put the D1 cabins in between the JS's on that deck. That whole section that is purple in between the turquoise is New, therefore all of the insides in that section are new.
