First Time Maasdam

We're looking at Maasdam out of Norfolk for our first HAL cruise. It looks like we're going to probably go with a category B cabin on Verandah Deck. Any input on cabins to steer clear from (i.e. those above casino); I am especially concerned about noise filtering up to the cabin from the public areas below. By the same token, any thoughts on cabins that might be better than others in this category would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Meridianfan - I hope you'll post a review :). I sailed her last month, and would love to hear your all about your experience. It was my first HAL cruise. I enjoyed it so much, I came home and booked another for next month. I hope yours was similar, but welcome ALL comments.

MY DH and I also debarked from Maasdam this morning. We have cruised on Maasdam many, many times in the past and found her to be as wonderful as ever on this most recent cruise. We were pleased with every aspect of our cruise and are in the process of booking to return once again.

I would stay away from any cabins that are below the Navigation Deck aft pool. The crew come out very early in the morning to clean the deck. You will hear lounge chairs moving about. Not only then but throughout the day as people adjust their chairs. And whenever there is a sail-away party - the chairs are moved again. When they wash down that deck, the water has a tendency to overflow onto the verandahs below.
