Royal Caribbean Visa Card

I have a question. Since you can use your PP card in the casino, and the max cash withdrawal daily is $2000.00 for a 7 day cruise that is $14,000, can your DH get the same amount daily using the same card? Yes,I have the credit approved, to charge that amount, plus more. Just wondering! We do play in the casinos but always used cash. So my question is: can 2 different people with the same PP credit card each take $2000.00 cash a day? I may have found a meal ticket here!!!icon7.gif

Yes it is easy to get the points.

You have to start redeeming them at least 8 weeks before final payment is due. That's how long it takes to get the coupon from Witchita Kansas to your house (in Cali), and then get the coupon into RCCL (or your TA) and then more time to get it applied to your balance owed.

Hi Jen! Thanks for the heads up on how much time you should allow to redeem your points. In this day and age you would think they would do it all electronically................

How have you and Naren been since we cruised with you on the Monarch? So far we don't have any CC buddies on our next Monarch cruise.:( We had a lot of fun last time!:)

I think that you would have to use two credit cards and set up two separate accounts..........since you and hubby have the same card and number and that daily limit might just be per card. But, hey, if you can do it...........go for it!!:p

Hi there!!!!

We've been great. How are you two doing? Is your DH still wearing shorts in this cold weather??

My mom and I got off the Monarch again yesterday. We had a great time, but there are issues I had with icruise and their wine gift. I don't think I'll book with them again. It just isn't worth it!

Good to see you! Don't be a stranger :)

My mind has been working overtime once I found out you can get cash from the casinos. And double points too! I havne't wanted to post it because I'm afraid someone from 'above' may read these threads and take away the loop hole. Anyway... I'm wondering... if you have 2 separate credit cards (B of A RCI issued) and 2 different Sea Pass accounts (one for you, one for hubby), and you each take out $2000/day for a week, then you'll have $14,000/person ($28,000!!!) and 28,000 points/person (56,000 total points). Now... that sounds WONDERFUL, but, where in the H E Double L do you put all that cash?!  Can you apply it back to your Sea Pass account and still keep your RCI points?

If you get it all in Hundreds , it really isn't a lot of cash(volume wise) to fit in your purse. Pack together 10 packs of 50-$1.00 bills and see for yourself! I know I can fit it inside My purse. Ok, now lets get the flamming going about how illegal it is to bring that much cash back through customs.icon10.gif

Even my DH had to give up those shorts in this weather! However, he has them close at hand, including his Caribbean shirts to pull out as soon as the temps stay above 70 degrees.

We're hoping it will be warmer on the Monarch in mid April. Why don't you join us for a 4 day and be our tablemates again? Then you can teach me all the ins and outs of this new RCI VISA card that I have! (Trying to stay on topic.....;) )

I know this is OT but am curious about the problems with the wine gift? Friends use same agency on Voyager TA in November and rec'd a bottle of wine every night of the cruise. We've thought of using them so am curious about your experience. BTW - we also live in So. Cal and will be on the Monarch this Monday. Have a question about the time for early seating. Do you know if it is 6:00? Emailed RCI to verify early seating and the reply said it was 5:30pm......I'm hoping not as that's a bit early. Thanks...........

Money taken out in the casino is actually for gambling. So first night you are excited to hit the tables. The second + nights you are losing big time will be the talk between you as you wait for the cash.

You do not pay off the "loan" on the ship, you do that on the bill from RCI VISA to get the points. If you do it on the ship, then you have no charge on your credit card so no points.

Customs wants info on any money over $10,000 & they want their taxes too. SO deposit it at an ATM before you disembark.

is a high priced cash out machine. No deposits. So you will find a bank on the shore to deposit your cash for you, unless customs is told by the casino how much cash you have gotten. But if you lost it all gambling, they cannot do anything & how can they prove that you have the cash on you?

We always say NO to the high cash amount asked. Never had a problem.

L&JCruiseAway, There are banks that will not allow deposits of any kind (cash, checks, etc.) in their ATM's due to security issues. If they are doubting it, then so am I.

Just as I suspected, you cannot make deposits in the ATM’s onboard. I questioned this because MACOP suggested you deposit the cash in the ATM before you leave the ship.

We just received our first FREE 7 DAY CARIBBEAN CRUISE FOR 2 Certificate! I love the Royal Caribbean Card!

Rorito,

I too have enough points for two free 7 day cruises. This will be my first time using the awards. Can you tell me exactly what the entire process is. When are you going on your 7 day cruise? We are planning a June cruise.

Thanks for your time,

Traci

I said before you disembark from the ship, at any of the ports you are vbisiting if you need money that bad. Other than that I guess you stuff your shoes with the bills & hope luggage isn't lost.

We've cash in two different times for a total of 4 free cruises. Have also cashed in on credits. When You call to cash in your points, they will send you vouchers. And all you have to do is turn them into your TA and they will submit. The value of the vouchers will be taken off the balance you owe.

It really is that simple.

Hope this helps.

They were quite interested in the "upgrade to RCCL Signature Visa card on 1/22/07" then I get a letter telling me that there is NO SUCH CARD, the clerk made a error telling me that statement but I can fill out the enclosed application for the B of A Signature Visa. Then I call about the letter & I am rudely told that I should comprehend that there is no such card to upgrade to. That is B of A's fault for telling me I was for being such an excellent customer with an excellent credit score.

Then the gal cashes in my 10,000 points for $100 OBC but 9 days later I don't have the certs & they do not show it happening but I am down to 50 points. SO did she keep it? I am not trusting them too much. Then the gal at RCCL states she heard they can take 3 weeks to show. All 3 of the ones I did with RCCL took 5 days, Celebrity the same.

Then I am asked if I wish to be part of a conference call to B of A by RCCL to investigate this situation. So they are not too happy with it either.

FYI.....I worked for B of A for a few years and when someone comes in to a bank to deposit more than $10,000.00 cash they are required to fill out federal forms also and if you do this often, they are also required to fill out suspicious activity reports that can be followed up by departments like the IRS. Also, having worked in the bank, I would never deposit cash in the ATM. There was always a teller at one branch or another who was getting caught skimming from the ATM cash deposits and a lot of times no one could prove how long they were doing this before getting caught.

I hope I am not coming across as rude, I am just trying to share the experience that I have and save someone from any of the above happening to them!

Sorry to burst a bubble here....but you DO NOT get Royal Points on casino cash. We just received our most recent statement from B of A (which included our New Year's cruise on Radiance)...and our Royal Points were only awarded for actual purchases onboard. I tracked how much was taken out at the casino and we definitely DIDN'T get Royal Points for that amount. Fortunately, it does include booze (both in bottles and glasses...ha ha).

Hmm: If you visit 4 ports in a 7 day cruise, and buy a cashiers check at each port for $9000.00, that should cover your BUTT!!!icon7.gif As far as whether you get dbl points for withdrawing cash in the casino's , I have never done it, always used cash, but I will be definetly trying it on my next cruise. I plan on getting the max each day, and using some in the casinos , then seeing how it shows up on my statement for future cruises. I may be able to cash in 125K points every year!icon12.gif

from the casino cage since we do not like their prepaid tipping. I do not tip folks I never see as they want me to. So we get $300-$400 for tips & we always get double points on the RCCL Visa. I like putting them in a personal card it printed out for each.
