you shouldnt hear noise from the stairs--unless you are sailing with rude/obnoxious passengers.

for the most part the stairs/elevators are quiet.

Serene56, Thank you so much for your quick response. I guess my concern is that more and more it seems there are rude/obnoxious (or at least loud) passengers. Has anyone had a cabin next to stairwells before? Did it distrub your sleep?

not on this ship but we had 6443 on carnival liberty which was right off the stairs/elevators-- we heard nothing at all all week.

(we even listened before dinner times and after a show. --nothing- we did not even hear the dings of the elevators. )

Id say that its probably going to happen sooner or later, even if you dont book near a elevator. We had some drunks out in the hall on my first cruise. I was glad I had my door closed so they couldnt see my reaction.

We also had some cruisers break up our bridge game which was scheduled on the daily papers. About 10 - 15 of them piled into the little card room to play a card game and all of them had drinks in hand. The worst was a lady over 70 who was standing up and continuously shouting stuff. We gave up on our bridge game with the noise.

You just have to shrug and get over it. It happens. My point is, you can have some drunks outside your cabin .... no matter where its booked. I wouldnt worry about it, luck of the draw to me.

we had an aft cabin on the destiny-- and that was the worst with rude/obnoxious passengers and we were no where near the elevators stairs.

Anyone know about HAL Zaandam Main Deck aft E 2678. Is this Ok? Never been on that cruise line. Seems like were low? How much do they usually charge for a upgrade ? This was a gift to us so we are very thankful to be on the ship. Holiday Dec. 22 sail to Hawaii. Thanks for any info you can provide about this room.:)

have a chance to upgrade from the upper deck to this cabin, any bad thoughts about the location? We were originally booked on the Upper deck 6315 and this cabin looks to be in the same location.

if the upgrade isfree then take it. I wouldnt pay for it. Both cabins ae in good locations. Further walk to the food but located under cabin areas and away from public areas so no noise worries

Any info on this room would be appreciated.

Thanks!:D

its a HC cabin--beds sit headboard to headboard instead of side by side. Here is our photos of the cabin on the other side of the hall on the liberty -- it will be the same for you.

its a long walk to the food/pools.

Serene,

Thanks for the info. Not the best room on the ship but not a bad upgrade from a 1A inside room on the bottom of the ship.

it IS an awesome upgrade- and right outside your window is a deck you cn use for your balcony. (its public but not many people know its there)

How is the 4th deck on the Vision of the Sea. We have room 4461 and it looks a little too close to the main entrance and Champagne bar?It was an upgrade.

I've never been on Vision, but was on Rhapsody which is the same kind of ship and was in 4551, which is a little further back than you but not too much. We had no noise problems at all, there are doors at the end of the hall that help with noise I am sure. I dont think I would want a room right next to that entrance, but back where you are should be fine.

We have booked an aft cabin on the new Carnival Splendor. Our TA said it is a good room because it has the extended balcony. My first concern was whether we would hear noise from the Morroco Lounge just below us. Carnival says no because they have such good insulation (hope so). Now after reading these boards I am wondering if it is a handicapped room and does not have a sofa. Any opinion?

it is not a handicapped cabin--but for the money--take a balcony across the back of the ship.

the sq footage in your cabin is a lot more then a regualr cabin BUT a lot of the sq footage can not be used because of the way the cabin is located.

There is no sofa-- there is no where to put it.

An aft balcony will be bigger then what you have.. the one you have now is long and narrow.

Here is my phots on the Liberty-- the layout will be the same fo your cabin.

here is an aft balcony: 260530874kXkADX_th.jpg

th balcony you have now will look like this:

Anyone know if this is good?? I worry because it seems right by the elevators and a bar?

a bar?? if you are looking at the Capital as a bar--- tis the glass enclosed elevators.

you wont gt noise from the elvators-- but if you are sailing with rude obnoxious passengers you will get their voices..but will have that no matter where the cabin is located.
