bigelow Posted January 5, 2010 #1578 Share Posted January 5, 2010 Serene56, Saw your web shots from prievious post of inside obstructed view cabin in front of ship. We are planning on booking Destiny on 3-31-11 and were thinking about booking either 7104,02,01 or 03. Those have a push together bed. Really like the solitude of room. What I was wondering is : Is there much noise from the Bridge above you? Also how much motion is it in front of the ship? Thanks for any info you can give us. We had 7102 on the Destiny and you could not hear anything fom the bridge but there was a sign posted by the window to keep your curtains closed at night. It had something to do with the glare from the lights in your room bothering some sensors. We felt motion but nothing to bad. Enjoy your cruise.:)

black forest Posted January 11, 2010 #1582 Share Posted January 11, 2010 (edited) Hello, we are booked on the Glory, Stateroom 6278 - any thoughts about that? It is above the fun shop. Hope it won't be to noisy from the shop? Thanks for any advice. We cruised the Glory before and had 8258 - and loved it. So I don't know if I should upgrade? firefly333 Posted January 11, 2010 #1583 Share Posted January 11, 2010 The shops close pretty early, well before midnight. I dont think you would have a thing to worry about. The shops arent noisy even when they are open.

jobythebay Posted January 12, 2010 #1588 Share Posted January 12, 2010 This is being held for us. I'm a bit concerned not so much about the obstructed view but the location. I get sea sick? Noise?? Thanks!!
susierailroad Posted January 13, 2010 #1589 Share Posted January 13, 2010 Can anyone offer some assistance. Brillance of the Seas has fantail staterooms available. 7172, 7174 and 8170. Has anyone ever stayed in one of these cabins? If you have any input regarding a cabin on the rear of the ship, please clue me in. Thanks so much,
ghini Posted January 14, 2010 #1590 Share Posted January 14, 2010 We love the aft cabin with a balcony. There are less neighbors, often more sun and the best part is very little wind. This makes it great for the at sea days when you want your own space with some sun and quiet. We love to watch the water go by. The other plus is when you are in port, regardless of which side the ship is docked, you can see the town. The ride is only slightly rougher. Only really felt it once when the ship was pushing over 20 knots. Felt some vibrations.

Travel_Dreamer Posted January 16, 2010 #1594 Share Posted January 16, 2010 Hi, everyone! As a first time cruiser, I have no idea about Celebrity Solstice cabin #3166 - Oceanview on Plaza Deck. When I checked the Deck plan, it is located under a casino and has just one cabin right next to Passport Bar. Since I will be sharing this cabin with my mother-in-law, I'm worrying about its noise level. Do you think she can sleep in this cabin without being disturbed at night? Any information or experience would be really appreciated!!! ;) Thank you very much in advance!!! :) Have a great day!!! :D

cruzinnluvinit Posted January 16, 2010 #1598 Share Posted January 16, 2010 We booked late but received a confirmed room on the Aloha deck on the Crown. I noticed that there is "white space" above our room and was told by the Princess reps (several times) that it is just a storage area for linens etc. Thought that might be ok, shouldn't have crew in there at night?Anyone ever been under storage areas? Thanks! Debbie Debbie, we have booked Aloha deck on Princess and was wondering about the noise and movement being close to the aft.
moviesign Posted January 16, 2010 #1599 Share Posted January 16, 2010 We were on the Glory for the New Year's cruise to the western Carib in 6233 on Upper deck. It's an inside cabin, did not feel claustrophobic, and allowed us to sleep late when we wanted because of the total darkness. It's right above the Amber Palace, and you can hear the shows going on underneath as if you're in the lounge. We knew that going in, but figured that the shows are over by 11:30-12:00, and we're not going to sleep earlier than that anyway. So far, so good, but one night they had an unannounced private party in the Amber, with loud music and BAD karaoke singing, until 2am. Had to get up early the next morning to tender in for an excursion. Carnival's attitude so far has been, "Gee, we wish that didn't happen", as if it were forces beyond their control. Just be aware that they might spring this on you if you're anywhere above the Amber Palace.
Travel_Dreamer Posted January 17, 2010 #1600 Share Posted January 17, 2010 (edited) Hi, if you can - it is open all night and you will hear the repurcussions from it. Thank you very much, jo! That helped me a lot, I really appreciate your comment! :) I wish I could change the cabin, but it seems like there's no more oceanview/inside cabin left and balcony cabin is out of our budget. (sigh...) :( Edited January 17, 2010 by Travel_Dreamer
